Cleansing is very important, especially if you use makeup products such as foundations & bb creams - most of the products contains strong chemicals and silicones. Wrong cleansing might cause serious damages to your skin - blackheads, acne or even wrinkles. Cleansers can have different forms - from liquid oils to even balms and today I'm going to show you Banila Co Clean It Zero Radiance Cleansing Balm.

Couple words about brand
Banila Co is a Korean brand founded in 2005. It's mostly known for its cleansing series Clean It Zero.

Packaging
The design of this product is really nice. In the packaging, we can find a spatula and additional lid which is very useful - this lid holds the spatula.

Skin Type
This product is suitable for all skin types. For a sensitive skin, Banila Co Clean It Zero Purity will be the better choice.

Ingredients
Mineral Oil, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, PEG-10 Isostearate, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Polyethylene, Butylene Glycol, Water, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Root Extract, Glycerin, Moringa Pterygosperma Seed Extract, Collagen, Butylparaben, Cl 16255, Cl 15985, Fragrance

Mineral Oil - also known as Paraffinum Liquidum, an emollient, it might be comedogenic. We would rather avoid this ingredient. Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil - It's a good natural oil and emollient, it helps with increasing skin elasticity and it repairs the skin. PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate & PEG-10 Isostearate - synthetic substances bad for our health. Rosa Canina Fruit Oil is also known as Rosehip Fruit Oil, it's a natural emollient and antioxidant. It helps with skin ageing and acne.  Cetyl Ethylhexanoate - oily & comedogenic emollient. Butylene Glycol - skin moisturiser, it makes skin softer. Water - this time it's not even one of the 5 first ingredients... Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Root Extract - unfortunately, my knowledge about this ingredient is not enough, but grapes can reduce the inflammation. Glycerin - some people react to this ingredient - it might be comedogenic. It helps with transporting other substances and it's a good moisturiser. Moringa Pterygosperma Seed Extract - the oil form is very popular but seed extract of this ingredient can help with inflammation and it's an antioxidant. Collagen - increases skin elasticity. Butylparaben - kills all the bacteria in cosmetics, unfortunately, it's not safe for our health. Cl 16255 & Cl 15985 - colorants, not safe. Fragrance - synthetic aroma, not safe for our health.

Smell & Texture
This product smells like fruits - especially sour fruits like lemon.  It's a nice scent. The texture is like a plasticine with some chunks. It's hard but it melts very well in your hands. I use this product not only to clean my face but I also massage my face when I use it.

How does it work for me?

It really works for me! I usually have problems with very sensitive eyes and makeup - a lot of products hurt my eyes or they don't remove all the eye makeup, this time I don't have to worry about both. I'm not a fan of the ingredients because obviously, I can see some PEG-s in it, but still, the ingredients list is short and I can't see any pore clogging ingredients. It melts very well and you can massage your face while using it. It lasts quite long, you need a small amount of it to clean your face. This product usually costs around 20$ but you can find it for a cheaper price on sales - I got mine for 6$ because I bought a product with a short expiry date, it turned out that shop sent me a product which I can use in 2 years because expiry date is in 2019.

Additional Information
This product is not suitable for vegans and vegetarians - Banila Co sells their products in China. If you've got sensitive skin the Banila Co Clean It Zero Purity version is recommended for you but you can also use this one.

Sum up

It's a good product and I really understand why it's so popular. The ingredients list have its flaws but if you allow your cosmetics products to contain PEG-s then go for it. Personally, I probably won't repurchase it because I'm still searching for a healthier choice - especially when there's a lot of similar products.

And do you know this product? Do you know Banila Co? What's your opinion about cleansing balms?

  2. Jeszcze nie używałam balsamudo demakijażu. Może wypróbuję ten Purify, bo oleje mineralne mnie niestety zapychają :(

  11. Śliczne opakowanie i ważne że działa i zmywa makijaż haha, ale za 20$ i z parafiną na pierwszym miejscu w składzie to raczej bym się nie skusiła. (Jenak za 6$ może bym skusiła się wypróbować...)
