I hardly ever change my cleansing water because my eyes are sensitive and my experience with products like cleansing waters wasn't always good - sometimes I had to stop wearing lenses for 2 months because of the allergic reactions to the ingredients and believe me without contact lenses shopping or reading subtitles on the TV is impossible for me. But lately, I've found a new favourite cleansing water which dethroned all of the cleansing waters I've ever tried and which helps me relax after work - Benton Tea Tree Cleansing Water.

The story

I feel like Benton is a brand which all of you know well, it's one of the most affordable Korean brands with the best ingredients and philosophy. The name itself came from the movie "The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button" and the reason why this name was chosen for a brand is very simple. The main philosophy of the brand is to turn back the skin to it's natural young and healthy condition with healthy remedies more than give you temporary effects by using harsh chemicals. Benton is a cruelty-free brand - they even have PETA certification. It's not a brand which focuses on many lines, they prefer to make one formula for different skin types and one of the best things is the fact that instead of making lots of products, the brand focuses on small batches to make sure that the product you get is fresh.

What's inside the new Benton's Tea Tree Cleansing Water?

What catches my eye in this products is not only the minimalistic, pure & fresh design but the formula.  The cleansing water contains only 10 naturally derived ingredients so you won't find here any artificial colourants or scents. There's no PEG-s or Sulfates and the product is non-comedogenic which is the most important thing for every acne-prone skin owner. The formula is mild for the skin and it's mostly focused on the main star of this product - Tea Tree. Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Water itself add up to 70% of the whole product, that's a lot especially when the second ingredient here is Pure Water. But that's not all - there's even more Tea Tree and that's the ingredient which changes my mood every morning and evening during the cleansing - Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil. Tea Tree is an antioxidant with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, it soothes skin and it gives the fresh feeling. Even if the product is mostly focused on acne-prone skin & oily/combo skin types, this formula can work for different skin problems like inflammation, redness, etc. I also want to mention that the producer says that pH of this cleanser equals 6 which is acceptable for me if it's between 4,5-6 it's okay. I don't really see any bad ingredient here, you can clearly see that the brand is true to the customers.

It's all about cleansing technique

For me, cleansing is all about technique - we have to remove makeup very delicate because skin near eye area is thinner than in other parts of our face. I soak two cotton pads in cleansing water and I lay them on my closed eyes for about 30 seconds - you can easily do that while taking bath. After 30 seconds I'm trying to push cotton pad with my finger and delicately remove makeup from inner part of my eye to the outside. Then I usually focus on removing mascara from my eyelashes so I'm trying to place my eyelashes between cotton pads and let them stay in cotton for 20 seconds. If your makeup is still on then use a cotton swab soaked in cleansing water and delicately remove the eye makeup. When my eye makeup is gone I focus on the rest of the skin. Depends on the product you use, waterproof makeup might take longer to remove but my non-waterproof panda makeup is clean and I feel relaxed especially if I remove my makeup during the bath.

Cleanse & relax

I know that this product should be a cleansing product but I feel like is helped me with my skin problems. I had some comedogenic reactions lately which I couldn't stop even with a change of skincare and this water helped me. I feel like I might skip cleansing water in the morning because it's better to cleanse your skin with pure water in the morning and during the evening routine use makeup remover + double cleansing even if this cleansing water is really mild I prefer to use it during the evening routine because it helps me relax and it's an antioxidant so it's like a nice supplement for the skin after the whole day of stress.
