How to cure acne and moisturize the skin? | By Wishtrend Polyphenol In Propolis 15% Ampoule Review

I feel like Propolis was an ingredient of 2018. Nowadays I don't see it as often as Mugwort or Centella but I don't want to leave Propolis trend, not yet! By Wishtrend Polyphenol In Propolis 15% Ampoule came out about 4 or 5 months ago but it already has many fans. Thanks to Tonic15 - a Kbeauty shop from the UK I was able to test this new By Wishtrend product which is not a typical propolis ampoule but an ampoule that mix propolis with antioxidants. Is this the best propolis ampoule you've ever tried?

My experience with By Wishtrend

By wishtrend is a brand which I know well, I posted before reviews of Green Tea And Enzyme Wash Powder, Mandelic Acid - which is actually the only AHA in liquid form that my skin likes, Vitamin C series - and my favourite vitamin sheet mask, TECA cream and now By Wishtrend released two new products - Acid Duo 2% Mild Gel Cleanser and By Wishtrend Polyphenol In Propolis 15% Ampoule. By Wishtrend line is very limited, they have a small selection of products which is actually good because the quality here is over quantity. Even if Wishtrend as a company seems to be huge and they work on several different platforms like Instagram and Youtube!

Design: Polyphenol in Propolis Ampoule

The design of the whole By Wishtrend brand seems to be minimalistic and professional. What I like about this design is that it reminds me a lot of Vitamin C serum from By Wishtrend - actually, this duo goes well together and it is recommended to use them both during the same routine! The packaging is so pretty - this gold colour that looks like honey! The pipette works well, it's easy to apply the product even straight onto the skin. We can talk a lot about the design but what we can find inside?

The recipe for an ideal propolis ampoule

The ideal propolis ampoule - at least for me - should be at least 50% of propolis and some additional ingredients. I barely ever see such concentration of propolis in a propolis ampoule and it doesn't mean that the product has to be bad! Sometimes more products = powerful ampoule. How about By Wishtrend ampoule?

I can't lie - this ampoule has over 20 ingredients but they all are interesting, my inner cosmetic nerd is always excited when I see some ingredients which I know well and some new ingredients. Propolis is not the main ingredient here since it takes 2nd place, it got dethroned by Houttuynia Cordata Extract. Houttuynia Cordata is known under many different names like Chinese Lizard Tail, Heart Leaf or Rainbow Plant. It's a plant used in Traditional Japanese Medicine. I know it mostly because some people use it to treat Borreliosis - obviously if you have Borreliosis or you think you might have this disease then please contact the doctor first before you use herbs. The reason why Houttuynia Cordata is used not only in skincare but also medicine is because of its antibacterial properties. It's an antioxidant that speeds up the healing process. Personally, I feel like Houttuynia Cordata is weaker than Centella Asiatica but it's a personal opinion - who knows maybe soon we will see the Houttuynia Cordata trend in skincare. Still, the main star here is Propolis Extract. It's hard to say how the Propolis Extract trend has started. Is propolis a great ingredient for acne prone skin? Indeed! Propolis has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties but it's not the reason why it got so popular. Do you remember the whole honey/glass skin trend? Propolis is a great moisturizer but it also gives the skin a glow! If you're allergic to bees then I recommend you to avoid this ingredient but if bees are not a problem for you - it's an ingredient which can change your skincare game. 

I feel like this product has some ingredients which you already know well like Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Water and Sodium Hyaluronate. They are great and I won't focus on them here because they can be found in almost every skincare product (for a reason!). Or Propanediol - an ingredient that seems to be boring because it's a natural preservative used in eco cosmetics. But how about Isopentyldiol? I've never heard about this one - even during my studies and now it turns out to be a moisturizer and emollient? I can admit that this serum is really moisturizing. Propolis might remind you of some stickiness and the scent, in general, is bit sweet but the moisture you can get from this product is a nice layer of moisture that at least my skin needs. Plus it works on acne-prone skin, some of my friends use only propolis to fight with acne. 

Who needs to be careful with By Wishtrend Polyphenol In Propolis 15% Ampoule?

There are some ingredients which you probably didn't see before like Ocimum Sanctum Leaf Extract - an antiseptic substance derived from a plant called Tulsi or Holy Basil or Corallina Officinalis Extract - red algae that are told to be an antioxidant and a good moisturizer. This serum is moisture and anti-acne bomb that my skin needs and yours probably too! There's Witch Hazel and Turmeric - ingredients usually recommended for acne-prone skin. Bad information for people with fungal acne - it does contain Lactobacillus Ferment and this ingredient is not recommended for your condition. There's also Zinc which my skin usually hates but in this formula, my skin accepted it well. The ingredient that made me interested the most is Pantolactone - an ingredient which seems to be related to vitamin B5, unfortunately, I won't tell you a lot about it because I need to learn more about it - in fact, we all learn something new every day. 

How do I use By Wishtrend Polyphenol In Propolis 15% Ampoule to get better effects?

So how does the ampoule work? The formula is bit sticky but it's not annoying and usually, under the layer of moisturizer, you can't feel it. Propolis ampoules shouldn't be used by people with an allergy to bees so keep that in mind that not everyone should use it. I've been using this ampoule over a month and using it alone gives nice results - the skin is hydrated and feels like it helps with acne but there's a way to make it even better - I mix it with couple drops of Klairs Blue Youth Activating Drop - I wrote about it before, it's a peptide serum. Propolis, Polyphenols and Peptides? I guess 3P is the answer to flawless skin. Or almost flawless... I can't say that my acne is totally gone because it's not and I'm aware that stress, bad diet and using many different products due to my studies are the reason why I break out a lot but I see the difference in the amount of acne. I also use this trick with a sheet mask where I put the ampoule under the sheet mask to get better effects. You can use it alone or even mix it with serum or cream - don't be scared of experimenting with it. By Wishtrend ampoule surprised me a lot, not only with formula but also with the design and how quickly I (or I should say my skin) got used to it. Do I recommend it? It's not my must have but it's a propolis serum which I can recommend. 

The most important part - how much it costs? By Wishtrend Polyphenol In Propolis 15% Ampoule costs £29.90 for 30 ml on Tonic15, the price is not the lowest but I guess it's because of the formula that seems to be clean and is based on ingredients that you normally can't find in products. But obviously, I'm not the one to tell you if it's high or low price because we all have different standards.
