Purito From Green Cleansing Oil

Finding "Green" K-beauty brands can be tricky. Purito is one of the most popular Green K-beauty brands. It shouldn't surprise us that Purito From Green Cleansing Oil is green and has a pure formula. It's hard to find an emulsifying oil based on natural oils with a short ingredients list.

About Purito

Purito is a K-beauty brand focused on the skin and the environment. The brand made a cool video about their history and why they decided to remove mineral oils, PEG-s and many other ingredients. The name Purito is a combination of words Purify and Chinese character To (土) which stands for soil. The brand name meaning is to go back to the roots and healthy skin barrier with pure ingredients. The brand is against animal testing, so all their products are Cruelty-Free, they also donate money to Best Friend Animal Society. All the formulas (except snail line) are 100% Vegan- Friendly. They also make paper packaging from recycled paper - that's one of the things you'll notice ASAP. The packaging used by Purito has a different colour and texture. They also donate money to the Korean Federation For Environmental Movement. Purito products are free from Paraben, Ethanol, PEG, Triclosan, Mineral Oil, Silicone, Petrolatum, Sulfate, Phthalate and Oxybenzone. Products are free from synthetic fragrance and colourants.

What do I think about organic/eco brands?

I have nothing against brands that do not use silicones, mineral oil, PEG-s and other stuff. If I would ever have to make a skincare brand I would remove stearic acid, myristic acid and couple other ingredients that cause acne. Every ingredient used in skincare is chemical - even the natural ingredients are considered to be chemicals. We shouldn't be scared of them since the norms are very strict (at least EU, US and many other places have strict norms, but the counterfeit market is not strict and you can find there many ingredients that can be a threat to your life due to lead and mercury contamination. For example, the Philippines have strict norms, but still, you can find places with counterfeit products or products sold illegally) but we need to remember that some countries have exceptions and there are differences between markets. Still, I'm happy that there's a variety of choice because your skin might prefer green skincare over synthetic ingredients while some of the skin conditions need synthetic ingredients. By the way, if it comes to the norms - when the package from Purito went through customs it didn't pass the EU regulations according to the customs which is a great joke because Purito products are sold in EU (you can see that on Purito's website) and none of the ingredients is banned in the EU - plus Tinosorbs and other sunscreen ingredients used in South Korea are common in EU market as well.

Purito and essential oils?

Purito has a line of products with essential oils, but when they had a great response to comments made by customers - there's a huge amount of people allergic to essential oils. Some essential oils can be photosensitive.

What's a cleansing oil?

The cleansing oil is a cleanser based on oils such as Sunflower Oil, Soy Oil, Jojoba Oil, Coconut Oil or Essential Oils. It might be a mix of 2 or more oils and additional ingredients. The cleansing oil is suitable for all skin types. The only trick is to know how your skin reacts to coconut oil or any other oil. For example, acne-prone skin usually has problems with coconut oil.

Is it important that cleansing oil is emulsifying or not?

Cleansing oils can emulsify or not. How to figure out which one you're using? Take a cup of water and pour a couple of drops of your cleansing oil. If your cleansing oil is emulsifying - it'll change into milk. Regular oil will float on the surface of the water. It's easier to remove the emulsifying oil from the surface of your skin.

Purito From Green Cleansing Oil - Packaging

As I wrote before - all Purito paper boxes are made out of recycled paper. This type of paper has a different texture and colour. All boxes are brown and they feel not as soft as typical skincare packaging. If you open the box you can find some information inside the box. The actual bottle of Purito From Green Cleansing Oil is plastic, but on the bottom, you can find information PET 1. This type of bottles can be recycled - still, I encourage you to check local sources to see if PET bottles are recycled in your country. The bottle has a small plastic element that blocks the pump - I like it more than on/off pumps. The bottle contains 200ml of oil and it should be used in 12 months.

Purito From Green Cleansing Oil - Ingredients

Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Sorbeth-30 Tetraoleate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Glyceryl Caprylate, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Vegetable Oil, Tocopherol

Purito From Green Cleansing Oil has a very small amount of ingredients. The base for Purito's Oil Cleanser is olive oil. It hides under the name Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil is an emollient. You might know it from your kitchen, olive oil is used in salads and at least for me, it's one of the gifts you buy in Italy. It's a source of vitamin E and squalane found in skincare is derived from olives. You need to be ready that Purito formula is full of emollients and even if I do not focus if the cleanser contains emollients or not, I still believe that Purito did a great job with the choice of ingredients. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is also an emollient. This one is derived from Coconut Oil and Glycerin, my skin has no problem with it. It's a film-making ingredient (occlusive) so it'll help with moisture of the skin. Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil is another oil which you can find in your kitchen. It has a long history of use in skincare, it's been used for thousands of years. It's an emollient, but also a film-maker, which helps with skin moisture and skin protection. The linoleic to the oleic acid ratio is ideal for acne-prone skin. It's a source of Vitamin E and Lecithin. Sorbeth-30 Tetraoleate is an emulsifier. Another emollient is a bit different because Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil is a liquid wax. People believe that Jojoba oil is similar to our sebum, still, it's an oil that fits the skin well and even acne-prone skin can use it. It's a source of vitamins E and A. Glyceryl Caprylate is an emollient and an emulsifier. Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil is an emollient, it contains a huge amount of oleic acid which makes it better for dry skin. It's also a source of vitamin E. Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil is an emollient and antioxidant. This one contains more linoleic acid than oleic acid, so it's better for acne-prone skin. I like it for its delicate scent. Ethylhexylglycerin is a preservative, it also helps with formula - thanks to this ingredient, the application of the product is easier. Vegetable Oil is a liquid substance, it protects the skin from dehydration by making a protective film on the surface of your skin. And last but not least Tocopherol, aka Vitamin E. It's a moisturizing antioxidant.

Thoughts on Purito From Green Cleansing Oil

Cleansing Oils are my favourite form of cleansing. They make makeup removing process easier. I can even say - cleansing oils have changed my life. Purito From Green Cleansing Oil has great packaging. The pump works smooth and the blockage part is useful - especially when you travel a lot. The oil doesn't feel greasy and that's what I like in cleansers, it doesn't feel like it can clog my pores and it didn't. I usually follow cleansing oil with foam cleanser, I did that with Purito too but sometimes I skipped foam cleanser, still, Purito works well. What's awesome is that you can use this oil during the pregnancy, I appreciate that the brand considers women during the pregnancy since I see more often how difficult it is for pregnant women to find skincare that won't be harmful since some ingredients shouldn't be used in such case. According to Purito, this cleanser can remove heavy makeup. It can remove makeup, but it doesn't go well with waterproof professional makeup which has to last longer than your average makeup for consumers sold at drugstores, but it does a great job with regular makeup products. I do not rub my eyes, I like cleansing to be delicate. And yes, you heard it right! This cleanser can be used to remove eye makeup. It won't hurt your eyes, but in my case, I always see a "fog" after the cleansing which is not a pleasurable feeling. The use of this cleanser is easy - first, you start with dry hands and oil and then add a bit water so the formula turns into a cleansing milk. It's simple, it's fun and it's easy! This formula can be used by teenagers since the ingredients are delicate and they won't make your skin clogged. The scent is delicate, I can still smell some grape oil in it. Overall, Purito From Green Cleansing Oil has some flaws, but I still believe that for some people it might be the best oil they've ever tried.

Purito From Green Cleansing Oil - Price

What's the price of Purito From Green Cleansing Oil? Purito has its own website where you can find Purito From Green Cleansing Oil for $21. It's not a bad price for 200ml of the product.

Overall, I'm very surprised with Purito and I'm happy to see how much this brand has changed. 2 years ago I had some issues with Purito cream which helped me figure out that I'm sensitive to Niacinamide + Vitamin C combination. This time I see how much Purito has changed and I understand why this brand became so successful.

Have you ever tried Purito before? Do you like cleansing oils?
