Nakeup Face One Night Cushion Heart Edition

There's one reason why K-beauty won my heart so easily. Cushions! I adore how small, tiny boxes can hide a sponge with foundation or bb cream. My main problem was finding a shade that can match my skin. Nakeup Face One Night Cushion Heart Edition has both these things - cute packaging and shade that fits my skin. Still, this brand is not as popular as it should be.

About Nakeup Face

Nakeup Face is a mix of no makeup and a naked face. The brand started creating products in 2014. They do not only concentrate on makeup but also skincare. I've tried Nakeup Face AHA Scaling Cream before and honestly, that's pretty much all I knew about this brand - it's quite a young brand with interesting products and design - especially heart edition if it comes to design.

Nakeup Face One Night Cushion Heart Edition - Packaging

I adore this heart design of One Night Cushion. I have to mention, this packaging is a limited edition. Normally, Nakeup Face One Night Cushion comes in different packaging, but it's still stunning. My friend Ammarah made a review of this cushion before, you can find in her post how the regular packaging of this cushion looks like. The box packaging of this cushion might look like nothing surprising, but the heart design is ultra pretty. It gives me this sailor moon vibe, but it also reminds me of Too Faced heart highlighters series which I also own and which also reminds me of sailor moon. Nakeup Face One Night Cushion Heart Edition is way bigger than other cushions which I own. It takes more space in my bag. When you open the cushion, you'll see this cute heart puff which as you probably already assume - it doesn't make the application process easier.

Nakeup Face One Night Cushion Heart Edition - Texture & Scent

The texture is creamy, and it covers imperfections easily. The scent is quite neutral for me - you can't smell it on your face.

Nakeup Face One Night Cushion Heart Edition - Ingredients

Sea Water, Titanium Dioxide, Caprylyl Methicone, Glycerin, Butyloctyl Salicylate, Isotridecyl Isononanoate, Triethylhexanoin, Phenyl Trimethicone, Diisostearyl Malate, Dipropylene Glycol, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Tridecyl Trimellitate, Polyglyceryl-4 Diisostearate/Polyhydroxystearate/Sebacate, Magnesium Sulfate, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Centaurea Cyanus Flower Water, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Oil, Pogostemon Cablin Oil, Morus Alba (White Mulberry) Leaf Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Extract, Polyglyceryl-2 Oleate, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Polyhydroxystearic Acid, Acrylates/Stearyl Acrylate/Dimethicone Methacrylate Copolymer, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Caprylyl Glycol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Polyglyceryl-2 Stearate, Dimethiconol, Trisiloxane, Trihydroxystearin, Palmitic Acid, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Butylene Glycol, Water, 1,2-Hexanediol, Madecassoside, Ceramide NP, Panthenol, Madecassic Acid, Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, Pentylene Glycol, CI 77492, CI 77491, CI 77499, Geraniol, Linalool, Citronellol

Sea Water is just like regular water - a solvent. I barely ever see brands using hydrosols instead of water in their products as a solvent. Titanium Dioxide is a mineral sunscreen. It protects your skin from UVB and UVA (II) radiation. Usually, Titanium Dioxide leaves a white cast on the skin. Many people with sensitive skin prefer to use Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide instead of organic sunscreen (organic sunscreen agents contain carbon, inorganic sunscreens aka mineral sunscreens doesn't contain carbon). You might not know that, but Titanium Dioxide is a super useful colourant and sunscreen agent. If you have melasma, you want this ingredient in your sunscreen and makeup. It gives your skin a "barrier" that protects your skin from UV radiation.

Caprylyl Methicone is an emollient and a volatile silicone. Silicones are good for the skin since they work as occlusives - what they do is protect the skin from dehydration. Volatile silicones are evaporating from the skin, they won't get absorbed by the skin, that's why you shouldn't be scared. If you're allergic then the good news is that the chance of getting allergic reactions to silicones is ultra-tiny! Still, every skin reacts differently that's why it's better to test on your own what ingredient works better for you and then decide if you want it in your makeup (or skincare) or not.  Glycerin is one of the most popular humectants in skincare. There's a large number of myths around glycerin like it can clog your skin. It doesn't clog your pores, but too much glycerin can make a sticky layer on the skin and even make your skin dryer than before due to TEWL (Transepidermal Water Loss). Still, it's an ingredient which we want to see in formulas.

Butyloctyl Salicylate is a solvent. Usually, it doesn't come alone. It brings some sunscreen agents to the party and makes sunscreen agents such as Avobenzone better. There's one other positive thing about Butyloctyl Salicylate, it makes the formula easy to spread that's why you can find it in some makeup formulas as well. Isotridecyl Isononanoate is a dry emollient. It won't leave an oily residue but still does an awesome job. It gives your skin this silky feeling which we want so badly. Phenyl Trimethicone is another silicone and an emollient. It gives you a smooth, silky finishing and it's quite easy to remove with a cleanser.

Diisostearyl Malate is an emollient used in makeup, and Dipropylene Glycol is a solvent. Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate is an emollient and an emulsifier. It leaves a delicate film on the skin. We can say that in this formula it gives your skin a pleasant glass/honey effect. Tridecyl Trimellitate is an emollient that creates a film on your skin to protect your skin from dehydration and water loss. I won't be surprised if you'll react with words "what the f*** is going on with this ingredient after you see the name of it. Polyglyceryl-4 Diisostearate/Polyhydroxystearate/Sebacate might look long and complicated. It's just an emulsifier, and it helps with water in oil formulas. Magnesium Sulfate or Epsom Salt is an ingredient with a history. The name Epsom Salt comes from city Epsom in England, where the Epsom Salt was produced. The other name is bath salt. It works as a stabilizer. Trimethylsiloxysilicate is a dry emollient and silicone. It creates a film on the surface of your skin. In makeup, it solves the problem with a longer life of your makeup during the day. Portulaca Oleracea Extract or Purslane Extract hides under many different names like Pigweed, Verdolaga, Duckweed and more. Portulaca Oleracea is a succulent, and a plant used in Korean traditional medicine. It's a source of vitamin A, C and E, omega-3 acids and calcium. Portulaca Oleracea Extract is an antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties. It can help speed up the wound healing that's why people with acne-prone skin, sensitive skin and PIE should look up to this ingredient in products.

Centaurea Cyanus Flower Water might say nothing, but another name of this substance is Cornflower Flower Water. It's a popular plant in Europe, it has a blue colour and you can find it as an additional ingredient in tea blends. It's a source of anthocyanin and a soothing ingredient. Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil is an essential oil. It's a phototoxic substance that's why you shouldn't use it if you plan to sunbathe. I would recommend you to be careful with this substance during the summer. It might have a nice scent, but some people are allergic to it and if you're pregnant - it's good to avoid it. Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil or Rose Geranium Flower Essential Oil is an essential oil, which means it might be sensitizing for your skin. Pelargonium graveolens is a flower typical for South Africa. You can usually find it in perfumes, aromatherapy or skincare, as a scent ingredient. Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Oil is an essential oil of ingredient which you can find in your kitchen. We can find thujone and camphor in this oil, that's why it's good for inflamed skin such as acne-prone skin. Pogostemon Cablin Oil or Patchouli Essential Oil is a scent ingredient. This ingredient is mostly used in perfumes Morus Alba (White Mulberry) Leaf Extract is an antioxidant. White mulberry in skincare is supposed to have anti-inflammatory & brightening effects.

Centella Asiatica Extract is an ingredient that stays in skincare trend. Lots of ingredients used in skincare have a long history of use in medicine. This ingredient isn't different because Centella is a part of Ayurveda, a traditional (or if you prefer - alternative) medicine used by people for ages. Nowadays we associate it with India. Centella is a herb mainly used in skincare for its healing properties. It speeds up the healing process, that's why acne-prone skin loves it. If you're pregnant or you plan pregnancy then try to find body care products with Centella Asiatica because it can have a positive meaning on skin elasticity as well as stretch marks. Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Extract is an extract form of tea tree. You probably know Tea Tree as an essential oil ingredient. EO's are controversial because they are not as safe as people think. Essential oils are similar to Alcohol, some are positive and some are negative because they can cause allergic reactions and be phototoxic or photosensitive. Tea Tree Oil is a good guy, it's super helpful in curing acne. It shouldn't be used straight on your skin, it needs to be diluted. It has antibacterial and antiseptic properties just like an extract from. Polyglyceryl-2 Oleate is a water in oil emulsifier.

Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer absorbs the sebum. Polyhydroxystearic Acid is probably the most interesting ingredient in the entire formula besides sunscreen agents. Polyhydroxystearic Acid is added to formulas based on mineral sunscreens - Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide to make them easier to apply evenly and make the white cast problem less annoying. Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate is a water in oil emulsifier. Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer is a powder that absorbs sebum. You can usually find it in makeup for its flawless finishing. Have you ever seen a thickener made out of hectorite - a white clay? Meet Disteardimonium Hectorite - it works as a stabilizer, gives your skin a sheer look, and in sunscreen formulas, it makes your UV protection even better. Caprylyl Glycol is a moisturizer and an oily emollient. It leaves a delicate, protective film on your skin. But that's not all, Caprylyl Glycol is useful when you want to keep your product free from unfriendly stuff like microbes. Glyceryl Caprylate is an oily emollient and emulsifier. It derivates from plants, that's why it's Ecocert approves it. Polyglyceryl-2 Stearate is an oily emollient and emulsifier. Dimethiconol is a light emollient. You can find it in makeup products because it makes your skin look soft and shiny (in a positive way). Palmitic Acid is a fatty acid, which you can find as a compound of many oils. It's an oily emollient, but sometimes oily skin might not enjoy it. Triethoxycaprylylsilane helps to spread pigment evenly. Butylene Glycol is a moisturizer and solvent, but it's also alcohol. You see, not every alcohol in skincare is bad. Some of them have positive effects on your skin - just like Butylene Glycol which is a popular substance even in eco/green cosmetic products. Water is an ingredient which you can find in almost every product, it's purpose in products is easy - it's a solvent. It feels like 1,2-Hexanediol is everywhere, and it's not a surprise. Even if it's a solvent, it's also a moisturizer.

Madecassoside is an active compound of K-beauty famous Centella Asiatica. It is not a surprise why Madecassoside, as well as Gotu Kola, are so common in skincare - they have wound healing properties. The boosts healing process which makes them ideal for acne-prone, sensitive or inflamed skin. Madecassoside is an antioxidant which you have to try! Ceramide NP or Ceramide 3 is an ingredient which we want to see in our products. Ceramides naturally occur in human skin and they have an important role. You can find them in the lipid barrier of the skin along with cholesterol and fatty acids. Ceramide is like a cement of the skin, it makes sure that your skin won't get dehydrated. Panthenol is nothing else than Pro-vitamin B5, a soothing moisturizer with positive meaning to the skin barrier. It speeds up the healing process. Madecassic Acid is an active compound of Centella Asiatica - a famous K-beauty ingredient. Even if Madecassic Acid is not as popular as Madecassoside, it's still a great healing ingredient. Asiaticoside has its roots in Centella Asiatica, it's one of the triterpenoid saponins. It supports wound healing. Asiatic Acid is an active compound of Centella Asiatica, and it also has powerful healing properties. Pentylene Glycol is a humectant with antimicrobial properties. CI 77492 or Iron Oxide Yellow is a yellow pigment. CI 77491 or Iron Oxide Red is a red or even brownish red pigment with UV protection properties. CI 77499 or Iron Oxide Black is a black pigment. Geraniol, Linalool & Citronellol are scent ingredients.

Nakeup Face One Night Cushion Heart Edition

How does Nakeup Face One Night Cushion Heart Edition work?

Nakeup Face One Night Cushion Heart Edition got me with its amazing packaging which reminded me of Too Faced Heart-shaped highlighters which I enjoy a lot! On the other hand, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person who has flashbacks from Sailor Moon when I see this cushion. You just simply can't say no to it. This version has a rose gold colour, but you can get orange Nakeup Face Coverking Powder Cushion Heart Edition, and red Nakeup Face Waterking Cover Cushion Heart Edition. Each cushion has different values, durability and coverage. One Night Cushion Heart Edition seemed to be the best for my skin in cases of durability and coverage. Each cushion comes in two shades #01 Ivory and #02 Beige. It's quite a normal range of colours in K-beauty. While in the US and Europe we go through lots of changes and brands are trying to release a wider range of shades to fit the consumers, Korean brands are trying to do... the same, but slower! Not every brand do that, and still, two or three shades are normal for many brands, but lately, I saw few brands like Laneige and Missha or Skinfood (yes, Skinfood still exists) releasing more shades than before. Brands that are already in the US has to release more shades due to the needs of customers.

Nakeup Face One Night Cushion Heart Edition

Even if two shades, people with light skin might have problems with matching the ideal shade. I knew that #01 Ivory is almost a perfect match to my skin - somehow it's easier for me to find a perfect match in K-beauty than when I check European brands. I've tried Fenty, and Kat Von D foundations and not only the formula didn't fit, but I had to mix two lightest shades to make it look good). I guess we all are ready for such inconvenience. It might not be the ideal shade, but it would be great if it can fit you as much as it only can.

The formula itself is creamy, and it covers the imperfection well - not fully, but I can't say anything bad about it. Is it everlasting? Depends on your skin, my skin is a combo and it stays on my skin half of the day - about 6 hours. I didn't use it with Urban Decay spray, but I enjoyed it. Would I repurchase it? Honestly, I don't think so, because there's another cushion which is a perfect match and stays on my skin a similar amount of time. Does Nakeup Face One Night Cushion Heart Edition smudges during the day? It can, it's just a cushion. It leaves a nice glow on your face, and it didn't dry out my skin. It's something I find positive because flaky skin doesn't look good.
