Clio Prism Air Eye Palette 01 Coral sparkle

The makeup market is overwhelmed, it's hard to find unique eyeshadow palettes, but Clio Prism Air Eye Palette 01 Coral Sparkle is quite revolutionary. If you're a fan of juicy colours and glitter or satin finishing of eyeshadows, then Clio Prism Air Eye Palettes are going to surprise you. There's a stereotype that Korean eyeshadows are less pigmented, is that true?

Are K-beauty palettes worse than Western makeup palettes?

That's a bit hurtful stereotype because as long as makeup trends between Asia, Europe and the US are different, I wouldn't say that K-beauty palettes are less pigmented. When I think about European makeup, I would think about what Dior or Chanel shows in their collections - when I was taught makeup, the whole basic techniques were based on what French brands came up with. The US makeup trends remind me more of Youtube MUAs - cut crease, lots of different colours and the ease of showing yourself. That's something that makes the EU and the US different, at least Western Europe is still a bit scared of coming before the society, or I should rather say "standing out". Asian countries are a bit different if it comes to makeup. Similar to Europe, Asia is differential in cultures, so Eastern Asian and Western Asian countries are going to have different aesthetic if it comes to makeup. If you follow Asian beauty brands then you'll see some trends - very delicate palettes, based on natural tones or usually warm tones, and I have to admit - Asian brands know how to make glitter/shiny eyeshadows. Brands like Unleashia, Celefit or Clio are focused on makeup, and their pigmentation might be better than for example Etude House, even if in my opinion, Etude House palettes are blending better than Polish brands that comes from the same price range.

The history of brand Clio

Clio is a South Korean skincare brand, the history of Clio starts in 1993. The name comes from a goddess, and according to the company, she's a sign of celebrating history and honour. Clio is a professional makeup brand, the main idea behind the brand is to give the consumer an innovative makeup product with high-quality formulas and surprising colours. All that is hidden in a stylish design, we have to agree that Clio Prism Air Eye Palette has a unique design. We have to add that according to many online articles Clio is first Korea's professional makeup brand. Clio was promoted by Gong Hyo-jin, Lee Hyori and Krystal Jung. Clio Prism Air Eye Palette was promoted by Krystal, and I feel like the palette concept fit her a lot. Nowadays, Clio did a great move by showing that makeup brands are not only for woman. Lately, Clio started a collaboration with Stray Kids - a k-pop band. And I have to mention something here, I started to write this post quite early and some things are different. If you're not into K-pop then you might not know about mass allegations related to bullying scandals - not only Clio had to stop the campaign, but Peripera (which is Clio's sister brand) and probably a few other brands. One of the iconic Clio's product is Kill Cover Cushion. Few days before I posted this page Clio decided to go back to the campaign, but in a limited way.

Clio Prism Air Eye Palette 01 Coral Sparkle - Packaging

The entire concept is in the peach/coral colour and prism/holo designs. The paper box might look soft, but once you open it, you'll see a prism packaging. I guess Clio should get a world record as the heaviest palette ever because it's not light packaging. On the other hand, the prism design is unique, fresh and I find it safe - this palette went through a lot, including shipping to Poland from South Korea and it survived - is that normal? The formula is so soft and delicate that I believe only a well-designed box can make these eyeshadows survive. Inside we can find a mirror, 8 different eyeshadows and a brush + packaging form to keep your eyeshadows safe.

Clio Prism Air Eye Palette 01 Coral Sparkle - Scent & Texture

Can an eyeshadow palette have a scent? Yes, it can, but in this case, I can smell alcohol or glue - it's a weird and heavy scent. In case you're scared, I have very sensitive eyes and I wear contact lenses, somehow this palette doesn't cause any allergic reactions that's why I enjoy it a lot. Many expensive, high-end brands make my eyes swollen, while Clio feels super fine on my eyes. The texture is soft and velvet, I've never tried a formula that reminds me of Clio Prism. The majority of shade is shimmery.

I do not analyse ingredients in makeup, especially eyeshadows, because the majority of ingredients are colouring substances like pigments. Before you buy the palette, I do recommend to check ingredients in case you're allergic to any substance. It's good to do a swatch test before too. This palette is not vegan-friendly since it contains Carmine.

Clio Prism Air Eye Palette - Swatches

[CORAL SPARKLE]: A coral-based eye palette [01 Flower Sugar] - Gold pearl ivory color [02 Heavenly Breeze] - Pink-gold hologram glitter [03 Sunshine Shower] - Copper-hued glitter [04 Coral Bouquet] - Pink coral shade [05 Peach Picnic] - Versatile peach color [06 From Spring] - Coral shade glitter [07 Calming Rain] - Pearlescent pink-gold shade [08 Wood Scent] - Classic brown color

This palette has amazing, shimmery shades - they fit the holo concept well, I'm a bit disappointed with the number of base colours - I don't find here any typical light base.
The colour which I thought is going to be our base is Flower Sugar - a delicate beige shade with a pearl base. I can agree with Clio on this pearl shade. It is a sparkly shade, but it is not a typical glitter shade as the majority of colours in this palette. I love the formula of Prism Air Eye Palette, but I wouldn't call it a base colour.
Heavenly Breeze is supposed to be a Pink-gold hologram glitter, but I see here a Flower Sugar with a stronger glitter shade. I like to use it in the inner corners of my eyes and under my eyes for better effect. Sunshine Shower is our Copper-hued glitter in Prism palette, the difference between Sunshine Shower and Heavenly Breeze is slightly visible in my opinion, it's a coral shade full of glitter, but the base of this shade is not very visible on the skin, but this shade is less intensive than Heavenly Breeze. By the way, I wouldn't call it copper in any way. Coral Bouquet is a pink coral shade, the formula is the same as for Flower Sugar - it has a bit of a pearly finishing, but you can see the true pink coral shade on your eyelid. It's a very subtle colour so don't worry, you won't make a mistake with this palette.

Peach Picnic is our base colour. It's a matte velvet shade. The incredible formula, you won't spot in this palette any other matte formula. From Spring is called a coral shade, but this is a true chameleon - it looks like a copper shade, but it looks coral on the skin. Calming Rain is a mix between pink and gold, it looks like a delicate brown shade, but once you apply it onto your skin you will see a light brown or warm pink shade with glitter. Not my type of shade, since it makes me look a bit sick. I might say something controversial, but if you check Hyuna's makeup looks sometimes she goes for colours that are a bit risky because they are warmer than her complexion, but still, she wears them confidently! Even if an eyeshadow doesn't fit your complexion like Calming Rain doesn't fit mine, you can always save it - one of the tricks Agwer taught me is using a beige pencil on the waterline instead of using white.  Last, but not least is Wood Scent aka classic brown colour. It's a metallic brown/copper shade, another risky eyeshadow for my skin tone, but somehow it looks amazing as an accent colour for the outer corner of your eye.

Is Clio Prism Air Eye Palette worth a try?

I've never tried Clio eyeshadows, but I tried different K-beauty makeup palettes, including Mamonde, Moonshot, Celefit, Unleashia and a few more. Clio is definitely in my top tier of K-beauty palettes because the formula is lovely! It's a palette for everyday use. I tried Pixi palettes that were supposed to be a very basic palette for every day and I made so many makeup mistakes with them (like don't put brown eyeshadow on eyelids like mine, they won't be visible at all if you have a brown bone that hides your eyelid). I've decided to check Coral Sparkle palette, instead of Pink Addict or Gold Broach, because I know my skin tone type - I'm a winter which is quite a surprise for many people since I got light hair and this made my entire study group think I might be spring or summer type, while summer shades were too pale and spring shades made me look sick. But I think that Pink Addict, or even Gold Broach should work well with my skin. By the way, when we talk about undertones - don't automatically assume that people in Asia and Africa have a warm undertone, you could be surprised.

Anyway, Clio Prism Air Eye Palette 01 Coral Sparkle is a good palette, no matter if you're a teenager and you begin your makeup journey or if you are a pro in makeup.

Where to get Clio Prism Air Eye Palette 01 Coral Sparkle?

I found Clio Prism Air Eye Palette 01 Coral Sparkle on Jolse, you can buy it for $46.60, right now when I'm making this post it costs $39.61. I'm aware it's not the most affordable palette, but the formula is worth it. I can't even compare this formula to any other brand.

Clio Prism Air Eye Palette 01 Coral Sparkle might not be the most pigmented K-beauty palette I've tried, but it's a safe choice full of glitter and fun.
