Goodal Seaweed Deep Moisturizing Sheet Mask

Sheet masks are not my favourite product to review. They are not easy to check. Hopefully, Jolse sells Goodal Seaweed Deep Moisturizing Mask in a pack of three, and I haven't tried this brand for quite a long time. What can I say about a soothing mask full of minerals? I can't say no to it, especially during the autumn and winter season.

About the brand - Goodal

Goodal is a South Korean brand. The name is a mix of words 'Good' and 'all". The brand combines nature and technology. This company is not scared of their heritage. All the products contain ingredients which you can find in Korea. The brand started to change skincare of people around the world in 2011, and it's a sister brand of Peripera and Clio. The most iconic Goodal product is the Green Tangerine Vita C Dark Dark Spot Serum. The seaweed mask I'm testing today has three different versions: moisturizing, firming and brightening.

Goodal Seaweed Deep Moisturizing Sheet Mask

What's a sheet mask?

A sheet mask is usually a mask made of fabrics, soaked in essence. It's a short treatment which I like to call a 'banquet mask' because it gives instant effects.

How does the sheet mask work?

Sheet masks are occlusives, and they work a bit similar to algae masks. The fabrics make your skin bit warmer, and it improves the absorption. That's why even estheticians use sheet masks during the treatments.

Why seaweed?

Seaweed is a group of algae species. What do they do to your skin? It depends on the ingredient, but usually, they are full of minerals and their main task to do is to hydrate and nourish your skin.

Goodal Seaweed Deep Moisturizing Mask - ingredients

Water, Propanediol, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Glycereth-26, Hydroxyacetophenone, Niacinamide, Fraxinus Rhynchophylla Extract, Ocimum Basilicum (Basil) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Water, Sea Water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Evodia Rutaecarpa Fruit Extract, Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract, Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Algae Extract, Ecklonia Cava Extract, Fucus Vesiculosus Extract, Prunella Vulgaris Extract, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract, Coccinia Indica Fruit Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Flower Extract, Solanum Melongena (Eggplant) Fruit Extract, Corallina Officinalis Extract, Undaria Pinnatifida Extract, Adenosine, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Carbomer, Tromethamine, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Hydrolyzed Collagen

I've tried the moisturizing mask so let's check first, what's inside! Propanediol is a moisturizer, often used in clean beauty/eco skincare products. You shouldn't be surprised, but this mask is full of humectants, just like another ingredient on the list - Glycerine. Glycerol is almost everywhere. It's one of the most known moisturizers used in the skincare because you can't go wrong with it. Hydroxyacetophenone sounds mysterious, but it's a stabilizer with antioxidant properties. Niacinamide is nothing else than Vitamin B3. It helps with pigmentation, acne, lack of moisture and wrinkles. Sensitive skin types do not like the combination of Niacinamide and Vitamin C in one routine or product. Fraxinus Rhynchophylla Extract is also called a Korean Ash Tree. We don't know this extract well, but Fraxinus Rhynchophylla should calm your skin. I'm not surprised to see Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract. Green Tea is a famous antioxidant. Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract is an anti-inflammatory ingredient. Evodia Rutaecarpa Fruit Extract is a soothing extract. Evodia is an ingredient who came from Traditional Chinese Medicine. You can also find it under the name Wu Zhu Yu.

Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract is a Chinaberry. This plant might be something new for you. It came from Ayurveda, and you probably know it as Neem. Algae Extract is a humectant and emollient. Ecklonia Cava Extract is an antioxidant that should brighten and nourish your skin. Fucus Vesiculosus Extract is a type of seaweed. We call it bladderwrack, and it's a hydrating antioxidant. Prunella Vulgaris Extract is a soothing herb. Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract is an antioxidant which you can find in masks for acne-prone skin and various DIY masks. Coccinia Indica Fruit Extract is another hydrating antioxidant. Another name of this plant is Ivy Gourd. Corallina Officinalis Extract is a hydrating seaweed just like a soothing edible seaweed - Undaria Pinnatifida Extract. Adenosine is an ingredient which I like a lot. It speeds up the wound healing process. Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil is an emollient and Tocopherol is nothing else than Vitamin E.

Goodal Seaweed Deep Moisturizing Sheet Mask

Let's start with the mask. The texture of the mask is soft, and it fits my skin quite well. I'm surprised by the amount of essence inside the packaging. The mask has a bit greenish shade, but maybe that's my fault since I use a sheet mask after taking a bath in a tiny bathroom. My face is very small, and I have some fabrics left under my chin and on my forehead. The essence is creamy and delicate. It has a scent which reminds me a bit of a lemon and Nivea cream combined. It's hard to name the scent, but I like it. It's not heavy, and if you're easily annoyed by scents, then you don't have to worry. I used this mask during the evening routine right after the essence. I kept it on my skin for 20 minutes and followed it by Be Plain Cicaful Ampoule. I can't decline, this mask is a moisturizing mask which you should save for winter or situations like dehydration of the skin. I'm very surprised how good it is, my skin was nourished, and hydrated even the next day. I didn't test the rest of the masks from Seaweed line but at least let me compare the ingredients for you.

Goodal Seaweed Hydra Firming Mask

Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, Niacinamide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Betaine, Hydroxyacetophenone, Honey Extract, Fraxinus Rhynchophylla Extract, Ocimum Basilicum (Basil) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Caviar Extract, Diphenyl Dimethicone, Panthenol, Sea Water, Triethylhexanoin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Propolis Extract, Royal Jelly Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Ficus Carica (Fig) Fruit Extract, Undaria Pinnatifida Extract, Carbomer, Adenosine, Tromethamine, Polyglyceryl-10 Myristate, Butylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Ceramide NP, Squalane

The ingredients are a bit different. Goodal Seaweed Hydra Firming Mask contains ingredients such as Betaine, Honey Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Propolis Extract, Royal Jelly Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Ficus Carica (Fig) Fruit Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ceramide NP and Squalane. Betaine and Sodium Hyaluronate are humectants. Honey Extract is an antibacterial ingredient. Panax Ginseng Root Extract is my favourite ingredient. It's an antioxidant, good for mature skin because it has anti-aging properties. Centella Asiatica Extract speeds up the healing process. Ceramide NP helps with lipid barrier and Squalane is an emollient. This formula seems to be nice, but is it firming? I'm not optimistic about it, I still prefer the moisturizing version if it comes to ingredients.

Goodal Seaweed Deep Bright Toning

Water, Niacinamide, Glycereth-26, Dipropylene Glycol, Fraxinus Rhynchophylla Extract, Ocimum Basilicum (Basil) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract, Pearl Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Undaria Pinnatifida Extract, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Carbomer, Sea Water, Tromethamine, Xanthan Gum, PVM/MA Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Calcium Pantothenate, Amylodextrin, Maltodextrin, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Pyridoxine HCl, Silica, 1,2-Hexanediol, Hydroxyacetophenone

What we can find in Goodal Seaweed Deep Bright Toning? Some ingredients are new, just like Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract, Pearl Extract, Calcium Pantothenate, Amylodextrin, Maltodextrin, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Pyridoxine HCl and Silica. Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract stands for Sea Buckthorn, moisturizing extract, ideal for sensitive skin. Calcium Pantothenate is a calcium salt form of Vitamin B5. Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate aka SAP is a form of brightening Vitamin C. Overall, I want to try this mask in the future since it seems to fit my brightening skincare routine well.

Goodal Seaweed Deep Moisturizing Sheet Mask

The price

The price of Goodal Seaweed Mask set (3 masks - 1 mask from each type) costs $7.63 on Jolse while I'm writing this review while single mask costs 3.81 and 3 masks from one type costs also $7.63. It's not a bad price for a set and I encourage you to choose sets since they are more affordable and Jolse has many different sets and offers which are worth a try.

Overall, Goodal Seaweed Deep Moisturizing Mask is a product you need in your stash. Do you use sheet masks? What's your favourite goodal product?
