Innisfree Mask Relief Tone Up Lotion SPF27 PA++

How often do you wear makeup? Do you go out of your house without it? I don't like to go out without makeup on because I'm insecure, but there are solutions like Innisfree Mask Relief Tone Up Lotion SPF27 PA++ - products to make your uneven complexion look more flawless without putting full makeup on.

It's not like I can't go out without makeup, but I do not feel as confident without makeup as in makeup. For many people - not only women, but makeup is a shield. I'm not sure if I'm the only person bullied for redness and acne on my skin. It's nothing uncommon that people with nice skin have easier lives, it's easier to gain something or accomplished something. Innisfree has few tone up products, but I feel like Innisfree Mask Relief Tone Up Lotion SPF27 PA++ is not that popular. Thanks to Jolse, I was able to test it and share with you my opinion.

You can love or hate tone up creams - some people are annoyed by their colour, but for people who can't match tinted creams to their skin tone-up creams can be a good solution.

About Innisfree

Innisfree is a Korean brand founded in 2000, this brand belongs to Amore Pacific. Their products are based on natural ingredients from Jeju - now you know why some series contains the words 'Jeju'. They have a good recycling program, unfortunately, it doesn't work in Europe - but if you live in Korea or any other country where Innisfree has a shop you can probably leave the empty bottle there. Innisfree has arrived in US and Europe lately. Their Green Tea Serum is one of the best-selling products. In 2021 Innisfree released the retinol formula. I'm a fan of Innisfree campaigns - especially upcycling beauty which I hope to share with you soon.

Innisfree Mask Relief Tone Up Lotion SPF27 PA++ - Packaging

Innisfree Mask Relief Tone Up Lotion SPF27 PA++ comes in a paper box with blue and white elements. Inside you can find a plastic tube with a pump - easy to use. It's not a huge tube, you can easily take it with you and reapply it like sunscreen. Even if this tone-up cream has SPF27, I recommend using additional sunscreen.

Innisfree Mask Relief Tone Up Lotion SPF27 PA++ - Texture & Scent

Innisfree has one problem with SPF formulas - a huge part of them has a scent. It smells like lemon or lemongrass & orange. The texture is creamy and a bit milky, but it's not liquid.

Innisfree Mask Relief Tone Up Lotion SPF27 PA++ - Ingredients

Water hides in a cosmetic product under names such as Aqua or Eau. It's a solvent, but it's not your regular drinking water. If we want to use water in skincare products, we need to make sure this water is clean and free from minerals, any microorganisms or other substances. Usually, water makes up the majority of the content of the product. Methyl Trimethicone is a solvent and light, volatile silicone. It evaporates from the surface of your skin quickly, so there's nothing to be scared about. Caprylyl Methicone is an emollient and a volatile silicone. Silicones are good for the skin since they work as occlusives - what they do is protect the skin from dehydration. Volatile silicones are evaporating from the skin, they won't get absorbed by the skin, that's why you shouldn't be scared. If you're allergic then the good news is that the chance of getting allergic reactions to silicones is ultra-tiny! Still, every skin reacts differently that's why it's better to test on your own what ingredient works better for you and then decide if you want it in your makeup (or skincare) or not. Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate or Octinoxate is a non-stable UVB sunscreen agent. Phenyl Trimethicone is another silicone and an emollient. It gives you a smooth, silky finishing and it's quite easy to remove with a cleanser. Propanediol is also known as natural glycol - an alternative for propylene glycol. Propanediol is a solvent with additional moisturizing properties. It makes the texture of the product smooth in touch, and it can even improve the effectiveness of active ingredients. Lauryl PEG-9 Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone is an emulsifier. Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891) - is a mineral sunscreen. It protects your skin from UVB and UVA (II) radiation. Usually, Titanium Dioxide leaves a white cast on the epidermis. Many people with sensitive skin prefer to use Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide instead of organic sunscreen (organic sunscreen agents contain carbon, inorganic sunscreens aka mineral sunscreens doesn't contain carbon). The Nano version of Titanium Dioxide fixes the problem with the white cast (not entirely, but you can spot the difference). You might not know that, but Titanium Dioxide is a super useful colourant and sunscreen agent. If you have melasma, you want this ingredient in your sunscreen and makeup. It gives your skin a "barrier" that protects your skin from UV radiation. Isododecane is a light emollient, mostly used in hair products. Silica is a thickener with magical properties for acne-prone and oily skin. It absorbs sebum, but at the same time, it can reflect the light to make your skin look healthy. Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer is a thickener. Have you ever seen a thickener made out of hectorite - a white clay? Meet Disteardimonium Hectorite - it works as a stabilizer, gives your skin a sheer look, and in sunscreen formulas, it makes your UV protection even better. PEG-10 Dimethicone is an emulsifier. 1,2-Hexanediol is a synthetic solvent and preservative. It protects products from microorganisms by boosting other preservatives. At the same time, it can moisturize the skin, and it has no unpleasant effects on your epidermis. Synthetic Fluorphlogopite or synthetic mica is a thickener. Sodium Chloride is nothing else than well-known salt. In skincare, sodium chloride is a thickener. We also use it as an exfoliant. Dimethicone is a dry emollient. Some people might find clogging, but it keeps your skin moist and protect it from dehydration. It has a positive effect on the skin barrier by creating occlusion, and it helps with scars. It can also smooth your skin visually. It's also silicone that's why some people like to talk badly about Dimethicone just because of this fact, but there's no reason to be frightened. It gives your skin an occlusive film, but it doesn't suffocate your skin. We need occlusion to prevent water from TEWL (Transepidermal Water Loss) - to keep the skin moist. It protects your hair from dehydration and weather, and it makes it easier to brush your hair. Trimethylsiloxysilicate is a dry emollient and silicone. It creates a film on the surface of your skin. In makeup, it solves the problem with a longer life of your makeup during the day. Limonene is a scent ingredient, and it makes the product smell like lemon or orange. Limonene can enhance penetration of other substances, but at the same time, it can irritate the skin. Polypropylsilsesquioxane makes a film on the skin. Caprylyl Glycol is a moisturizer and an oily emollient. It leaves a delicate, protective film on your skin. But that's not all, Caprylyl Glycol is useful when you want to keep your product free from unfriendly stuff like microbes. Allantoin is a powerful ingredient in skincare, and I think we have all known it since the early days. My family didn't imagine my childhood without this cream. Allantoin derives from comfrey, and it has soothing properties, but it also speeds up the healing process, which makes it ideal for acne-prone skin and sensitive skin. Glyceryl Caprylate is an oily emollient and emulsifier. It derivates from plants, that's why it's Ecocert approves it. Fragrance (Parfum) is a scent composition. It can cause allergic reactions. Alumina is an ingredient that you might remember from chemistry lessons. It has various positive effects on products like absorbing the sebum or helping with pigments.

Disodium EDTA neutralizes metal ions in the formula to keep products fresh for a longer time. Ethylhexylglycerin is a preservative with subtle moisturizing and antimicrobial properties. I like Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate more in skincare than as food since this ingredient is related to your least favourite candy, but a very soothing plant - Licorice! It works as an anti-inflammatory ingredient, but it has a positive meaning for acne-prone skin. In general, Licorice can brighten your skin and help with acne. I wouldn't expect a lot from Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, but I think that adding it to this formula was a great move. Linalool gives a floral scent to products. It can irritate the skin. Panthenol is a humectant. It prevents skin from TEWL (Transepidermal Water Loss). Panthenol is also known as vitamin B5, and it helps with irritation. You can see it in products for atopic dermatitis or psoriasis. It can soothe the skin irritated by preservatives, scent ingredients, and chemical sunscreens. It might have a meaning for lipids in our skin and skin barrier. It speeds up the healing process. It's good to use it after sunbathing. In haircare, Panthenol has moisturizing properties. It makes your hair easier to detangle, and it can have a positive effect on hair growth. It is good to mix it with niacinamide and zinc oxide. Madecassoside is a bioactive part of Centella Asiatica. It's an antioxidant and can stimulate collagen and elastin synthesis to promote wound healing. It has soothing effects, and it might have anti-aging properties if we combine it with vitamin C. Citral gives products a lemon scent. It can be sensitizing for the skin. BHT is used in low concentrations in skin care products. In such concentrations, you shouldn't be scared of it, because it works as an antioxidant. Eugenol gives a scent to the product. Tocopherol is an antioxidant known as Vitamin E. It's an oil-soluble vitamin that fights free radicals, makes UVB protection and natural lipid barrier stronger. It's good to mix it with vitamin C for better effects. Oily skin might react with pore-clogging to vitamin E. It is not true that vitamin E works as a preservative or helps with scars.

How does Innisfree Mask Relief Tone Up Lotion SPF27 PA++ work?

Tone-up products are very specific you can love them or hate them. For a long time I couldn't get used to them, but reviews of other Innisfree tone up cream which I'm going to mention lately made me wanna try it. Products to match uneven skin are different - some have tints some are like tone-up creams. Tinted creams are usually too dark for light skin, while tone-up creams are usually white and match cold toned light skin better. The first thing I've noticed after I opened Innisfree Mask Relief Tone Up Lotion SPF27 PA++ is the scent. The scent is super heavy, but I had sunscreen from Innisfree before and it has a similar strong scent. Once I applied this cream the skin is less shiny and it stays soft in touch. Innisfree Mask Relief Tone Up Lotion SPF27 PA++ makes a delicate soft film on the surface of the skin. The pores seem to be a bit less visible, and redness is balanced, but not fully. I have to admit, you have to be careful with the amount - a tiny amount is enough to cover the entire face. If you use too much, it'll be hard to spread it evenly on the skin. Sometimes it's hard to figure out how to spread Innisfree Mask Relief Tone Up Lotion SPF27 PA++ on the skin because it can smudge. But when I go out I prefer to use Innisfree Mask Relief Tone Up Lotion SPF27 PA++ instead of going out with a bare face. It's good to use sunscreen before or after this lotion since SPF27 is not enough to protect your skin.

I have to mention that I didn't test Innisfree Mask Relief Tone Up Lotion SPF27 PA++ with makeup so I won't let you know how it works under makeup. I'm more likely to use Innisfree Mask Relief Tone Up Lotion SPF27 PA++ than popular Dr Jart+ Cicapair Color Correcting solutions due to shade match, but I do plan to make a comparison of these products.

Propanediol is a solvent with additional moisturizing properties. It makes the texture of the product smooth in touch, and it can even improve the effectiveness of active ingredients. Glycerin or Glycerol is a humectant. Its origin can be natural or synthetic - depending on the product. It protects TEWL (transepidermal water loss) and naturally occurs in the skin. It's one of the NMFs - natural moisturizing factors. It's practical in haircare. Glycerin won't clog your skin or irritate it just the opposite - it protects your skin from irritation. Dicaprylyl Carbonate is an emollient. It makes your skincare products easy to apply to the skin. Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891) - is a mineral sunscreen. It protects your skin from UVB and UVA (II) radiation. Usually, Titanium Dioxide leaves a white cast on the epidermis. It gives your skin a "barrier" that protects your skin from UV radiation. Polysorbate 80 is an emulsifier. Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3. It's a vitamin soluble in water. It helps with wrinkles, acne, skin texture and enlarged pores. It helps with collagen synthesis. Niacinamide makes the skin barrier stronger, and it might be useful in cellulite treatments. Mix niacinamide with kojic acid, arbutin, vitamin C, tranexamic acid or retinol to fight pigmentation or uneven skin. 1,2-Hexanediol is a synthetic solvent and preservative. It protects products from microorganisms by boosting other preservatives. At the same time, it can moisturize the skin, and it has no unpleasant effects on your epidermis. Betaine is an amino acid. In skincare products, we use it for its moisturizing properties. Betaine keeps the water balance of the skin. It e wrinkles appear less visible, and it soothes irritated skin. In haircare, betaine doesn't only moisturize the hair. It makes hair soft and shiny. Betaine in cosmetics usually comes from sweet beetroots. It naturally occurs in skin and hair. Diisostearyl Malate is an emollient used in makeup. Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer is a synthetic polymer. It thickens the formula. Fragrance (Parfum) is a scent composition. It can cause allergic reactions. Polyacrylate-13 makes a film on the skin. Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer or Sepinov EMT 10 is a thickener with emulsifying properties. Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer is a powder that absorbs sebum. You can usually find it in makeup for its flawless finishing. Synthetic Fluorphlogopite or synthetic mica is a thickener. Polyisobutene is a thickener. Glyceryl Caprylate is an oily emollient and emulsifier. It derivates from plants, that's why it's Ecocert approves it. Aluminium Hydroxide is an emollient, it works with Titanium Dioxide as a coating ingredient. Ethylhexylglycerin is a preservative with subtle moisturizing and antimicrobial properties. Triethoxycaprylylsilane helps to spread pigment evenly. Sorbitan Isostearate is an emulsifier. Polysorbate 20 is an emulsifier. Disodium EDTA neutralizes metal ions in the formula to keep products fresh for a longer time. Polysorbate 60 is an emulsifier. Prunus Yedoensis Leaf Extract or paperback cherry soothes the skin.
