Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Cream Unscented - Packaging

Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Cream Unscented comes in a paper box, as you can see on the side of the box you can spot braille characters which is a big plus for Haruharu - I barely ever see cosmetics brands doing that. Inside you can see a dark, plastic jar with cream. There's no spatula in the box.

Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Cream Unscented - Scent & Texture

As the name says, Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Cream Unscented has no scent. The texture is quite oily and waxy, it's quite thick but not solid. It's hard to compare it to any other product.

Water hides in cosmetic products under names such as Aqua or Eau. It's a solvent, but it's not your regular drinking water. Water in skin care needs to fit some standards. It should be clean and free from minerals, microorganisms or other substances. Usually, water makes up the majority of the content of the product. Propanediol is also known as natural glycol - an alternative to propylene glycol. Propanediol is a solvent with additional moisturizing properties. It makes the product smooth to the touch. It can even improve the effectiveness of active ingredients. Olivem 1000 is a combination of Cetearyl Olivate and Sorbitan Olivate. It's a natural emulsifier, and beauty companies use it to create an oil-in-water emulsion. Worth mentioning it's a biodegradable formula. Glycerin or Glycerol is a humectant. Its origin can be natural or synthetic - depending on the product. It protects TEWL (transepidermal water loss) and naturally occurs in the skin. It's one of the NMFs - natural moisturizing factors. It's practical in hair care. Glycerin won't clog your skin or irritate it just the opposite - it protects your skin from irritation. Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil is an emollient and source of linoleic acid, oleic acid, vitamin E, flavonoids and sterols. It's also a powerful antioxidant suitable for oily skin. Polyglyceryl-3 Stearate is a non-ionic surfactant and oily emollient. Sodium Phytate is a chelating agent derived from corn. It neutralizes the ions in the products to make sure your product stays a fresh bit longer. Cetearyl Alcohol is a fatty alcohol. In the beauty industry, it's an emollient. Many people associate alcohol with something awful for the epidermis, but not every alcohol is nasty. Cetearyl alcohol leaves a moisturizing film on the skin to prevent your skin from transepidermal water loss (TEWL). We use Cetearyl alcohol to create an emulsion. Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract (10,000ppm) is a source of proteins, vitamins like vitamin E and minerals like potassium. It's a rich antioxidant with antiseptic and anti-aging properties. Rice Extract has positive effects on hair. Heptyl Undecylenate is an emollient. It creates a moisturizing film on the surface of the skin. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is a combination of coconut oil and glycerin. It's a notable emollient, quite common in skincare. It leaves a protective film on the surface of the epidermis to save your cutis from dehydration. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride has a significant role in skin care products - it makes the application process effortless. Some people might experience pore-clogging after using Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, but pore-clogging and skin reactions to ingredients are individual. What works for you might not work for someone else.

Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil is rich in linoleic acid and it has soothing properties. Phyllostachys Pubescens Shoot Bark Extract (2,000 ppm) is a bamboo extract. Aspergillus Ferment has whitening properties. Panax Ginseng Root Extract is a source of ginsenosides, many vitamins and minerals. Ginseng is a hanbang ingredient, a traditional medicine ingredient. It improves blood circulation. Ginseng Root Extract has antioxidant properties, it also works as an emollient. If you deal with cellulite you might want to add products with this extract to your routine. Hyaluronic Acid (200ppm) is an ingredient loved by everyone! Hyaluronic acid naturally occurs in the skin. It's a glycosaminoglycan or GAG. What does that mean? It's a long polysaccharide - nothing else than sugar, and we all know what sugars do in the skin. It's not different from Hyaluronic Acid - it acts like a humectant. One HA molecule is supposed to hold up to 1000x heavier molecules than this one single HA molecule. Hyaluronic acid can have different molecular weights - smaller molecules are usually more hydrating than bigger ones. EURO-NApre is based on Zanthoxylum Piperitum Fruit Extract⁣, Pulsatilla Koreana Extract⁣ and Usnea Barbata (Lichen) Extract - three Korean herbs with antimicrobial properties. It works as a preservative. If you're scared of the controversy from 2020 - don't worry, it turned out that there was nothing bad in this complex and it's safe to use. Butylene Glycol is a common ingredient in products. It's not only a solvent. We use butylene glycol because it helps with the penetration of active ingredients, protects products from drying and moisturizes skin and hair. This ingredient can prevent hair loss and make your hair stronger. Cetyl Palmitate is an oily emollient. Sorbitan Palmitate is a non-ionic surfactant and water-in-oil emulsifier. Cyclodextrin is a chelating ingredient. 1,2-Hexanediol is a synthetic solvent and preservative - it protects products from microorganisms by boosting other preservatives. At the same time, it can moisturize the skin, and it has no unpleasant effects on your epidermis. Alcohol is an immense topic in skincare. Alcohol can be good or bad for your skin, but sometimes the amount makes a poison. Alcohol, after all, is a prominent solvent. It makes active substances penetrate the skin deeper. This effect has its cost - the skin is getting a bit irritated. Some substances can be dissolved only in alcohol. This ingredient has antibacterial properties. It works as a preservative by preventing microorganisms from growing in the product. It has some awful sides too - it can dry your skin, mainly if we use it in large amounts. Sensitive skin is not a fan of this ingredient.

How does Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Cream Unscented work?

I have to admit, I didn't expect a lot from Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Cream Unscented. I knew that Haruharu is popular for its designs of serums, but I noticed one thing that I have to appreciate. I went to a non-typical high school - my class had max 20 kids and 5 spots in each class were reserved for kids with disabilities. Because of that and how my school was built to make it more friendly to all students, I noticed the braille on the packaging first. I saw many medical brands using Braille, but cosmetic brands? That's something new. When I started to read more about Haruharu Wonder, I started to be even more curious since the brand's values fit my values.

I'm not sure when I was stuck that I didn't find out Haruharu has new products like Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Cream Unscented. The fact that the brand creates unscented products is even better because many people can't use scented products or might have problems with being sensitive to scents. Even if I'm usually not allergic to scents, some scents can be irritating for me.

Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Cream Unscented is made 99% from naturally derived ingredients. It contains 10,000ppm of Korean Black Rice Extract and 2,000ppm of Bamboo Shoot Bark. I believe it even has The Vegan Society certification. The brand also uses Hyaluronic Acid certified by Ecocert.

Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Cream Unscented

When I opened the cream for the first time, I was a bit surprised at how unusual this formula is. It's not wax but you can feel the thickness and how many oils this cream contains. It reminds me more of an ointment than a cream. Haruharu Wonder used liposome technology in this product to make the transport of active substances in the product more effective. To do that, Haruharu uses 6 years old Ginseng concentrate - a source of saponins.

I was a bit scared that Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Cream Unscented might be too heavy, but this texture is ideal for winter days. I think this cream is super helpful if you plan to start your retinol journey or you're already on your retinol journey and need a product to help with the side effects of retinol use. When I was using retinoids, my main problems were skin sensitivity and dryness. Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Cream Unscented has no scent ingredients, and the formula is super moisturizing. This could be a great choice during retinol treatment.
