The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate and The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate Cream

I bet you heard that once you turn 25, your skin starts to age because it's a year collagen starts to decrease. The aging process is inevitable, but we can slow it down. The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics line is supposed to help with aging and wrinkles, but at the same time, it's focused on the skin microbiome to maintain a healthy skin barrier. Thanks to Jee & Ju, I was able to try The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate and The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate Cream. Is this an ideal line for your skin?

About The Pure Lotus

The Pure Lotus is a K-beauty brand which I know because of the beautiful packaging. The brand is focused on Lotus from Jeju, an island which is an inspiration and source of ingredients for many companies. And it's not only about skincare! The Pure Lotus has a Cosmetic Cert Jeju certification which tells you that the products made by the brand are from Jeju. They also obtained EU certification which is something I barely see in K-beauty. EU law in my opinion is quite strict if it comes to the skincare and food industry (you're hearing that from a person who had to study both). The main star of The Pure Lotus products is the White Lotus Leaf. The Pure Lotus is a vegan-friendly brand. It's also important to add that the brand is not only focused on skin or hair, but The Pure Lotus has its own inner beauty line. Thankfully, the brand doesn't sell supplements, but tea!

It's not my first journey with The Pure Lotus, I've tried this brand before, but the Youth Biotics series looks completely different from the previous series. It looks more majestic.

Why Lotus?

Lotus is a source of antioxidants. It's rich in flavonoids and polysaccharides. It's also important to add that Lotus has anti-aging properties. The lotus used in The Pure Lotus products is obtained from Jeju Island - a pure island also known as the island of the Gods. Jeju is one of the Unesco World Heritage Sites.

The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate - Texture & Scent

I'm not sure what are your expectations when you see concentrate in the name of the product, but The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate is like a lightweight cream or creamy serum. It has a delicate, pleasant scent. Maybe a bit like some citrus, but it's hard to describe it.

The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate

Water, Propanediol, Polyglycerin-3, Nelumbo Nucifera Leaf Extract (34,490 ppm), Glycerin, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, 1,2-Hexanediol, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Squalane, Vinyl Dimethicone, Butylene Glycol, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Glyceryl Caprylate, Allantoin, Panthenol, Xanthan Gum, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Lactobacillus Ferment, Adenosine, Disodium EDTA, Michelia Alba Flower Oil, Malt Extract, Artemisia Capillaris Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water, Nelumbium Speciosum Flower Extract (90 ppm), Nelumbo Nucifera Root Extract (90 ppm), Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate(78 ppm), Sorbitan Isostearate, Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract, Bifida Ferment Filtrate (5 ppm), Lactococcus Ferment Lysate (5 ppm), Streptococcus Thermophilus Ferment (5 ppm), Pentylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Linalool

Water hides in cosmetic products under names such as Aqua or Eau. It's a solvent, but it's not your regular drinking water. Water in skin care needs to fit some standards. It should be clean and free from minerals, microorganisms or other substances. Usually, water makes up the majority of the content of the product. Propanediol is also known as natural glycol - an alternative to propylene glycol. Propanediol is a solvent with additional moisturizing properties. It makes the product smooth to the touch. It can even improve the effectiveness of active ingredients. Polyglycerin-3 is a humectant since this ingredient is made out of glycerin molecules. It helps promote active ingredients deeper. Nelumbo Nucifera Leaf Extract (34,490 ppm) or Lotus Leaf Extract is an antioxidant with anti-aging properties. Glycerin or Glycerol is a humectant. Its origin can be natural or synthetic - depending on the product. It protects TEWL (transepidermal water loss) and naturally occurs in the skin. It's one of the NMFs - natural moisturizing factors. It's practical in hair care. Glycerin won't clog your skin or irritate it just the opposite - it protects your skin from irritation. Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil is an emollient and a source of vitamin E. The structure of jojoba oil is very similar to human sebum, that's why all skin types shouldn't be scared of this oil. It creates a delicate, non-oily film barrier on the surface of the skin. It helps to restore your hydrolipid barrier. Jojoba oil can be applied straight onto the skin. In hair care, jojoba oil makes hair stronger and hydrated. PS. Jojoba oil isn't an oil, but a waxy ester. 1,2-Hexanediol is a synthetic solvent and preservative - it protects products from microorganisms by boosting other preservatives. At the same time, it can moisturize the skin, and it has no unpleasant effects on your epidermis. Olivem 1000 is a combination of Cetearyl Olivate and Sorbitan Olivate. It's a natural emulsifier, and beauty companies use it to create an oil-in-water emulsion. Worth mentioning it's a biodegradable formula. Squalane is an ingredient very similar to our sebum. Squalane and squalene sound similar, but there's a difference. Squalane has no double bonds while squalene has double bonds. What does it mean? Squalane is a more stable version of squalene. What I love about this ingredient is how well it works with all skin types, and how our skin needs it. Believe me, if your skin is irritated - go for squalane! This ingredient is usually derived from sugarcane or olives. It acts like an emollient and you need it in your life.

Butylene Glycol is a common ingredient in products. It's not only a solvent. We use butylene glycol because it helps with the penetration of active ingredients, protects products from drying and moisturizes skin and hair. This ingredient can prevent hair loss and make your hair stronger. Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer is a polymer with thickening properties. Glyceryl Caprylate is a natural oily emollient and emulsifier. It creates a delicate film on the surface of the skin. It has some antimicrobial properties. Allantoin is an ingredient that naturally occurs in our bodies, but brands usually go for the synthetic form of this substance. It comes from comfrey or soybean roots. It's a humectant with soothing and wound-healing properties. Panthenol is a humectant. It prevents skin from TEWL (Transepidermal Water Loss). Panthenol is also known as vitamin B5, and it helps with inflammation. Panthenol can soothe the skin irritated by preservatives, scent ingredients, and chemical sunscreens - it might have a meaning for lipids in our skin and skin barrier. It speeds up the healing process. It's good to use it after sunbathing. In hair care, Panthenol has moisturizing properties. If you have problems detangling your hair or hair growth go for Panthenol. It is good to mix it with niacinamide and zinc oxide. You can see it in products for atopic dermatitis or psoriasis. Xanthan Gum is a polysaccharide that works as a thickener. Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer is a polymer that works as an emulsifier and thickener. Lactobacillus Ferment is a probiotic with a positive effect on the microbiome of the skin. This soothing ingredient can moderate sebum production and help with acne since it has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. Adenosine naturally occurs in the skin. One of the adenosine's roles in our bodies is being a neurotransmitter. In skin care, we use adenosine for its anti-wrinkle properties. Adenosine is an anti-inflammatory ingredient. It can boost collagen production. At the same time, it speeds up the healing process. Adenosine can have positive effects on reducing redness. In hair care, adenosine can help with hair loss. Disodium EDTA neutralizes metal ions in the formula to keep products fresh. Michelia Alba Flower Oil is a flower oil obtained from magnolia. It's rich in linalool - a terpene alcohol, scent ingredient. Malt Extract is a dark syrup derived from barley, it's a source of many important elements for the skin. Artemisia Capillaris Extract is an ingredient that has stayed in skincare Kbeauty trends for a while now. Mugwort comes in many different forms. Artemisia Capillaris or Chinese Mugwort has other names like Yin Chen Hao, and it's not only a herb from traditional medicine. In some countries, you can find it in cuisine. It's an antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties.

Centella Asiatica Extract is probably the most popular extract in skincare. It comes under a few names - Asiatic pennywort, tiger grass or Gotu kola. Centella Asiatica's roots are in Ayurveda. This extract is successful because it's a source of triterpene saponins - madecassoside and asiaticoside. Centella Asiatica Extract has anti-inflammatory properties. It speeds up the wound-healing process. You can use it to treat acne since it has soothing and antibacterial properties. It boosts fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin or even helps with hyaluronic acid synthesis. Centella is recommended for rosacea and cellulitis since it helps with blood microcirculation. In hair care, Centella can help with hair growth. Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Water is a green tea hydrosol. It refreshes, soothes and hydrates the skin. Nelumbium Speciosum Flower Extract (90 ppm) or Sacred Lotus Extract has anti-aging properties. Nelumbo Nucifera Root Extract (90 ppm) or Lotus Extract has anti-aging properties and might have a whitening effect on the skin. Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate (78 ppm) is an antioxidant derived from yeast. It's a source of vitamins, minerals and amino acids. It can help with skin moisture by boosting hyaluronic acid synthesis in the skin. It might help with skin pigmentation. Sorbitan Isostearate is an emulsifier. Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract is probably the most popular extract in skincare. It comes under a few names - Asiatic pennywort, tiger grass or Gotu kola. Centella Asiatica's roots are in Ayurveda. It boosts fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin or even helps with hyaluronic acid synthesis. Centella is recommended for rosacea and cellulitis since it helps with blood microcirculation. In hair care, Centella can help with hair growth. Bifida Ferment Filtrate (5 ppm) is a moisturizing antioxidant. It has a huge meaning for the microbiome. Lactococcus Ferment Lysate (5 ppm) is a probiotic obtained from Gram-positive bacteria. It might sound scary, but probiotics in products are very useful - not only in the beauty industry. It supports your natural skin microbiome. Streptococcus Thermophilus Ferment (5 ppm) is a probiotic obtained during the fermentation of gram-positive bacteria. It has moisturizing properties. Pentylene Glycol is mostly a solvent and stabilizer, but it has great moisturizing properties. Caprylyl Glycol is an oily emollient and humectant. It leaves a moisturizing film on the surface of the skin. Linalool gives a floral scent to products. It can irritate the skin.

How does The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate work?

The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate is the first concentrate I've ever tried. I wasn't sure what's the idea behind this product. The short description of this product sounds like this: Moisture essence containing Jeju lotus fermented water. If this product is an essence then it's a thicker essence than I've ever tried because it reminds me of a lightweight cream.

The magic ingredient in this product is Jeju Lotus Fermented Water. It takes 168 hours - 7 days to create this ingredient. It contains 34,490 ppm of Lotus Leaf Extract. The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate contains 8 probiotics & calming complex. The product is not only supposed to strengthen the skin barrier, but also moisturize the skin, and help with inflammation and wrinkles. The 8 probiotics & calming complex contains lactobacillus ferment, galactomyces ferment filtrate, bifida ferment filtrate, panthenol, alantoin, artemisia capillaris extract, centella asiatica extract and camellia sinensis leaf water.

Forget the details, I bet you wonder how to use The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate. I see that it's still difficult for many people where to put certain products in a routine and how to use them. Some products like VT Reedle Shot or The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate are problematic since we don't see them often. Lots of people use skincare products in order from lighter to the thickest texture and I also did that. I used this product right after the serum and before The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate Cream. The formula is lightweight and creamy, but it has a rich feeling too - you can easily feel how moisturizing this texture is while spreading. It's easy to apply, and The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate blend with skin easily. It doesn't sensitize the skin, it works with retinol, and the delicate scent is very satisfying. It might not work with every sunscreen, but my experience was good.

I honestly don't know what to tell you. I didn't expect miracles, and if it comes to moisturizing then The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate was an ideal moisturizer for winter time.

At the same time, it can moisturize the skin, and it has no unpleasant effects on your epidermis. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is a combination of coconut oil and glycerin. It's a notable emollient, quite common in skincare. It leaves a protective film on the surface of the epidermis to save your cutis from dehydration. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride has a significant role in skin care products - it makes the application process effortless. Some people might experience pore-clogging after using Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride but pore-clogging and skin reactions to ingredients are individual. What works for you might not work for someone else. Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 - a vitamin soluble in water. It helps with problems like wrinkles, acne, skin texture, and enlarged pores and promotes collagen synthesis. Niacinamide makes the skin barrier stronger. It might be handy in cellulite treatments. Do you want to fight pigmentation or uneven skin? Try to mix niacinamide with Kojic Acid, Arbutin, Vitamin C, Tranexamic Acid or Retinol. Cetearyl Alcohol is a fatty alcohol. In the beauty industry, it's an emollient. Many people associate alcohol with something awful for the epidermis, but not every alcohol is nasty. Cetearyl alcohol leaves a moisturizing film on the skin to prevent your skin from transepidermal water loss (TEWL). We use Cetearyl alcohol to create an emulsion. Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter is a butter obtained from seeds of the Vitellaria paradoxa tree - a tree typical for Africa. It's an emollient rich in antioxidants like vitamin E or vitamin A. It's a source of oleic acid, stearic acid and linoleic acid. Shea butter is a well-moisturizing emollient that leaves a fine film on the skin and hair to protect from dehydration. It has soothing properties, and it might provide sun protection around SPF 2-4 (still, use proper sun-protecting agents instead of oils and butter for your safety). This ingredient is an excellent choice for dry skin and psoriasis. Shea butter hydrates hair and helps them look shinier. It's good to choose certified shea butter from a trusted source.

Jojoba oil isn't an oil, but a waxy ester. Cetyl Ethylhexanoate is an emollient that leaves a velvet layer on the surface of the skin. It appears in cleansing products, and it makes brushing and detangling your hair easier. Glyceryl Distearate is an emollient and thickener. Sodium Hyaluronate or sodium salt of hyaluronic acid. It's a form of hyaluronic acid and naturally occurs in the skin. Sodium Hyaluronate has strong water-binding properties. Sodium hyaluronate combined with elastin and collagen is like a scaffolding for the skin. It has hydrating properties and leaves a hydrating film on the skin, but sodium hyaluronate prevents skincare products from drying.

The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate and The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate Cream

How does The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate Cream work?

The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate Cream is based on similar technologies as the serum from this series. The magic ingredient in this product is Jeju Lotus Fermented Water. It takes 168 hours - 7 days to create this ingredient.

The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate Cream has a thick formula which in my opinion is more suitable for dry skin than for my combo/oily skin. Still, during winter time when my skin gets easily dehydrated - it's a product I was using to strengthen my skin barrier since it's a combo of probiotics. Even if it contains Niacinamide, my skin somehow enjoyed this cream. It didn't cause me any redness. I'm not sure if the product normally comes with a spatula, but that would be useful. The cream has a pleasant smell. I would see myself repurchasing it for the winter season.

Where to buy and how much do The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate and The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate Cream cost?

I got The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate and The Pure Lotus Youth Biotics Lotus Probiotic Concentrate Cream from Jee&Ju, I believe this set costs £68 on their website.

Overall, it's a line I would invest in for wintertime, but now when it gets warmer, I'm changing my cream to concentrate, but once I'm out of it, I'll go for other, lightweight products.

Have you ever tried The Pure Lotus before?
