What's Olive Young?
Olive Young is South Korea's largest health and beauty retail chain. It has stores across the country and, a few years ago, launched its global online store. Olive Young has several in-house brands, including Bioheal BOH and Bring Green, but you can also shop products from hundreds of Korean beauty brands, as well as some international brands in its Korean stores.
The first Olive Young store opened in South Korea in 1999. The company is part of the CJ Group, a major conglomerate with businesses in food, entertainment, retail, and other industries. Today, Olive Young has more than 1,200 stores across the country.
Over the years, the company has expanded both its brand portfolio and international presence. In 2012, it launched the skincare brand Shingmulnara. In 2013, it opened its first overseas store in Shanghai and introduced Bioheal BOH. In 2015, WAKEMAKE and Round A'Round joined its portfolio. Olive Young stores are designed to create a vibrant shopping experience, combining modern interiors with an easy-to-browse layout. In 2026, Olive Young opened its first US store.

In May 2026, Olive Young split its Global and US websites into separate stores. Since then, both websites have become less competitive when it comes to discounts and promotions. If you live in Europe (just like I do), these additional customs expenses - the €3 per HS code - need to be taken into account when shopping. Customs fees depend on how your country's customs authority classifies the products, so Olive Young can't guarantee the exact cost. As a general rule, customs duty is around €3 per HS code, so ordering different types of products (such as skincare, makeup, haircare, and food) may increase the total fee. Keep in mind that VAT and carrier handling fees are separate and may also be charged when your package arrives. When I ordered skincare last month, I paid much less in customs fees than I did this month when I combined haircare, makeup, and food products in one order.
