Even if bakuchiol doesn't have the same photosensitivity concerns associated with some retinoids, sunscreen is still essential because it protects the skin from UV radiation and the oxidative stress and DNA damage caused by UV exposure.
Does bakuchiol cause purging like retinoids?
No, bakuchiol is not a retinoid and doesn't typically cause purging in the same way retinoids can. It also has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
Can I use bakuchiol during pregnancy?
Opinions on this topic vary. There isn't enough research on the safety of bakuchiol during pregnancy, so although some sources consider it a potential alternative to retinoids during pregnancy, we don't have enough evidence to establish its safety with certainty. How does ongredients Bakuglow Capsule Lotion work?
This lotion isn’t my first experience with the ongredients brand, but somehow, during university, I didn’t spend much time writing reviews here. I decided to get ongredients Bakuglow Capsule Lotion because ongredients Skin Barrier Calming Lotion* helped with my redness, and I was hoping that maybe ongredients Bakuglow Capsule Lotion would help me, too, even though niacinamide is one of its main ingredients.
I was impressed by ongredients Bakuglow Capsule Lotion after the first use. I used quite a large amount, but even in the morning, I could feel that my skin was moisturized. The key is to use the right amount during your evening routine because if you don’t apply enough, you might not notice the same effect in the morning. The capsules suspended in the texture are a bit difficult to blend, but besides that, I adore this product. It does make my skin feel hydrated, it doesn’t sensitize me, and even though there’s niacinamide in the formula, my skin isn’t as red as it usually gets when I use products containing more than 2% niacinamide, so that’s a good sign.
