Repair your skin barrier! By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream Review

I believe that the answer to flawless skin is healthy and happy skin and to achieve that we need to focus on skin barrier and a good diet. By Wishtrend Teca 1% Barrier Cream is told to be a solution for acne-prone and sensitive skin, it's nothing strange since this cream takes all the best from Centella Asiatica to make skincare easier.

The magic of Cica & Barrier Creams

Barrier Creams and Cica Creams started to be hot these days and I understand that in 100%, I love them too and if you ask me how to save dehydrated or sensitive skin I'll tell you to go to the drugstore and buy a Cica/Barrier Cream! But still, what's the difference between these two cream? Barrier cream - as the name says makes a protective layer - a barrier - to protect the skin from water loss as well as from external factors like environmental factors while Cica Cream stands for a cream formulated with ingredients related to Centella Asiatica - so it can contain Centella Extract or for example Madecassoside. But to be honest, usually, both names - Cica Cream and Barrier Cream are being used for the same formula, still you can find a barrier cream without Centella or Cica Cream which is not recommended as a Barrier Cream.

What's inside?

This cream contains probably one of the most effective ingredients I've ever tried - Centella. You might know this ingredient as Tiger Grass or Gotu Kola. This plant is known for ages in Ayurveda medicine and to this day it's used in both - medicine and skincare. I like to call this ingredient a multi-tool because it works for different skin conditions - it heals the skin, it helps with acne and skin redness. Teca cream contains also Allantoin which is a good moisturizer that can help the healing process. There are some ingredients that skin might not like, for example, Glyceryl Stearate SE or Cetearyl Alcohol - they both can be comedogenic. There's not really a lot of natural extracts and that makes the product suitable for sensitive skin, there's also no perfume and cream has no scent.

I've decided to put the products on my skin in couple different ways which I want to share with you. For some people Full Face technique will be better, for others, this cream will work better as a spot treatment.

How to apply: #1 - Full face

This idea might not be good if your skin is reacting to Glyceryl Stearate SE, but if your skin is dry or you do not get comedogenic reactions to Glyceryl Stearate SE then you can try and go for it. I have to mention that this cream is not a moisturizer, it works more like an occlusive that makes a film on the surface and traps the water inside. It's more like a cream that protects the skin and repairs skin barrier than moisturize the skin.

How to apply: #2 - Spot Treatment

This idea will be better for acne-prone skin or if you've got an inflammation, scar or pigmentation spots. Lots of people on the internet suggested using Teca cream this way and for me, this way of application is better. Some people tell that this cream works a lot like Midnight Blue Cream from Klairs (review here) but this cream has less irritating ingredients - Midnight Blue Cream contains lots of natural extracts which makes cream more irritant for sensitive skins.

How to apply: #3 - Primer

Yes, this product you can use as a primer in areas such as nose or chin - I feel like it makes skin smoother and well-protected but at the same time, it locks the moisture.

I've tried all 3 ways and for me, products work the best as a spot treatment since my skin is sensitive to Glyceryl Stearate SE. I had some fresh bumps and fresh wounds, I've applied it on my chin and chest and I was surprised how quickly bumps have disappeared it took about 2 days to not feel the change of the texture of skin but it works even better on the inflamed or broken skin. It might take longer on older scars but on fresh wounds, it's an ideal product to regenerate the skin. If you want to make this cream more effective I recommend to use it with FGF peptide ampoule - FGF is a peptide that speeds up the healing process, used before Teca cream can make the whole process of regenerating the inflamed skin quicker.

Overall, I think that By Wishtrend did a good job with this product even if at first I wasn't sure if it'll help me or not. It's good to have it in a stash. The price is quite high, $27.50 for only 30 ml, in this case using it as a spot treatment sounds better but Wishtrend usually has good offers every month, this month you can get 5% off on all your purchases with code MERRYMARCH.
