Each year, Korean skincare brand AHC releases a new eye cream, and each year, this cream is popular. AHC Premier Ampoule Eye Cream For Face Line Tightening (Season 13) was released at the beginning of the year, but it’s definitely one of the most important new releases for your eyes. Is AHC Premier Ampoule Eye Cream For Face Line Tightening better than previous eye creams from this brand?
Meet the brand: AHC
AHC
The name AHC stands for Aesthetic Hydration Cosmetics. According to AHC's website, the company started in 1999. The name of the brand is not random; AHC makes skincare products similar to those used by aestheticians. It means that AHC produces professional products for personal use, this is nothing new, as many aesthetic brands used in spas also offer lines for personal use. If I have to compare the eye creams I use at home vs. those I use during my internship as an esthetician, I would say AHC is way better than pro eye creams. Eye Cream For Face is AHC's most popular product. One of the AHC ambassadors was Anne Hathaway.
During the last few years, actresses Kim Hye Soo and Jo Bo Ah have appeared in AHC commercials, as well as actress Oh Yeon-Seo. Lately, Krystal Jung, who you might recognise from girl group f(x), became AHC's ambassador. The last time I checked, AHC sold 71 million eye creams, but according to promotional materials, AHC sold over 130 million eye creams. Right now, thanks to Unilever, AHC is available globally. The acquisition of Carver Korea and AHC took place a few years ago, in 2017. You have to remember that, even if Unilever is a big company available all over the world, AHC formulas in Korea and abroad are a bit different. I haven't tried non-Korean versions, but we will talk a bit about it later.
In December 2024, AHC announced new brand ambassador Lee Ha Nee, an actress who you might know from dramas like Aema, One the Woman, or The Fiery Priest.
Do you need an eye cream?
Some people believe that you don't need a special eye cream for your eye area. The skin around the eyes is thinner and more sensitive. There are some ingredients you shouldn't use near your eyes, like AHA. You have to be very careful with AHA near the eye area. I put AHA only under my eyelid, but I try to be extra careful. Eyes also have different problems like puffiness, wrinkles, and dark circles - it doesn't mean that a normal cream won't do anything about it, but sometimes it's better to choose a targeted product.
AHC Eye Cream For Face
The reason why this cream is called eye cream for the face is easy - AHC sells this cream as an eye cream, but they also recommend using their eye creams on areas where you can see wrinkles, like the mouth or forehead. Right now, AHC has released 10 versions of eye creams. Season 1 - Real Eye Cream For Face is a firming product with EGF. Premium Real Eye Cream For Face is a season 2 version, which brightens the skin. Season 3 Private Real Eye Cream For Face nourishes the skin, and Season 4 THE Real Eye Cream For Face is even better when it comes to hydration. The Pure Real Eye Cream For Face, aka Season 5, which was my first AHC eye cream, is a version for sensitive skin. I tried a version with that cute floral packaging made in collaboration with Marymond - you can read the full review on Kherblog. I didn't try Season 6 Ultimate Real Eye Cream For Face. This season is easily absorbed by the skin. Season 7 Ageless Real Eye Cream For Face contains biomimetic collagen, and it gets easily absorbed because the size of the formula is 1/300 of the pore size. What makes Season 8 Time Rewind Real Eye Cream For Face interesting is the number of peptides to increase the elasticity of the skin. Season 8 review is available on Kherblog, as well as season 9 - Youth Lasting Real Eye Cream For Face, focused on 20s Biome AHC technology.
Season 10 Ten Revolution Real Eye Cream for Face had ingredients that were 1/1000 the size of the pore size, but it was highly innovative since it contained HumaColl21®, a biomimetic vegan human collagen. Season 11 Premier Ampoule Eye Cream For Face had fewer peptides, but it contained T4 Collagen. Season 12 Premier Eye Cream Core Lifting is more innovative than the previous season, thanks to EleVastin™ - a solution that protects skin from sagging caused by gravity. Season 13 Premier Ampoule Eye Cream For Face Line Tightening is focused on Bonding Collagen T7 developed by the brand.
By the way, in 2024, AHC released a new series of products called Pro Shot. The idea behind this line is simple: professional results, derm science, clinically-proven solutions, and timeless aesthetics. There are three different lines. Colla-Juvenation Lift 4 is focused on skin elasticity and wrinkles. Hyaluro-Deep Volume 5 is a line that improves hydration and tightness of the skin. Gluta-Ctivation Bright 3 is focused on dark spots and uneven skin tone. The review of Hyaluro-Deep Volume 5 eye cream is already on Kherblog.
AHC Premier Ampoule Eye Cream For Face Line Tightening (Season 13) - Packaging
The 13th season of AHC Eye Cream For Face comes in a gold & purple box. On the back of the box, you can see all the useful information in Korean, and on the side, there’s a QR code to the AHC website. Inside the box, you can find a tube of AHC Premier Ampoule Eye Cream For Face Line Tightening in the same colours. What’s unique in this series is this rubber tip that’s useful if you want to massage your face.
If you read the reviews of previous versions, I was complaining about the tip in season 11 and in the previous version (season 12), I wrote that even if this version has no special tip, the texture is quite thick. AHC Premier Ampoule Eye Cream For Face Line Tightening (Season 13) has a massaging tip, but it has been upgraded. I’m thankful that AHC didn’t think about creating a roll-on tip, because massaging tips like this one or like ones in the Pro Shot series are safer for the sensitive skin than roll-ons.
AHC Premier Ampoule Eye Cream For Face Line Tightening (Season 13) - Texture & Scent
I love the texture of AHC Premier Ampoule Eye Cream For Face Line Tightening (Season 13), it’s a lightweight cream with a floral scent. I love it and it doesn’t sensitize me, but not everyone might like it. The texture isn’t as thick as Season 12 Premier Eye Cream Core Lifting. I love how soft this texture is.

Water is typically listed in cosmetic products under names such as "Aqua" or "Eau". It's a solvent, but it's not your regular drinking water. In skin care products, water must meet specific purity standards, ensuring it is clean and free from impurities, including minerals, microorganisms, and other substances. Water usually makes up the majority of the product's content. Glycerin or Glycerol is a humectant. Depending on the product, its origin can be natural or synthetic. It protects against TEWL (transepidermal water loss), a natural process that occurs in the skin. It's one of the NMFs and a natural moisturizing factor. It's practical in hair care. Glycerin won't clog your skin or irritate it—just the opposite—it protects your skin from irritation.
Propanediol, also known as natural glycol, is an alternative to propylene glycol. It is a solvent with additional moisturizing properties, making the product smooth. It can even improve the effectiveness of active ingredients. Hydrogenated Polydecene is an emollient that leaves a silky, delicate, non-occlusive film on the skin's surface. This ingredient is ideal for sensitive skin.
Macadamia Integrifolia (Macadamia) Seed Oil is an emollient and a source of oleic and palmitoleic acids. It's a source of Vitamin A and E. Macadamia Oil is a phenomenal choice for sensitive and dry skin. In hair care, this ingredient can help with dry and fragile hair. Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 - a vitamin soluble in water. It helps with problems like wrinkles, acne, skin texture, and enlarged pores, and promotes collagen synthesis. Niacinamide makes the skin barrier stronger. It might be handy in cellulite treatments. Do you want to fight pigmentation or uneven skin? Try to mix niacinamide with Kojic Acid, Arbutin, Vitamin C, Tranexamic Acid, or Retinol.
Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter is a butter obtained from the seeds of the Vitellaria paradoxa tree, a tree typical of Africa. It's an emollient rich in antioxidants like vitamin E or vitamin A. It's a source of oleic acid, stearic acid, and linoleic acid. Shea butter is a well-moisturizing emollient that leaves a fine film on the skin and hair to protect from dehydration. It has soothing properties, and it might provide sun protection around SPF 2-4 (still, use proper sun-protecting agents instead of oils and butter for your safety). This ingredient is an excellent choice for dry skin and psoriasis. Shea butter hydrates hair and helps them look shinier. It's good to choose certified shea butter from a trusted source.
Caprylyl Methicone is an alkylmethyl silicone and emollient. It has a waxy texture, and it makes the product easier to apply. It works great with natural ingredients and pigment. It's a volatile silicone, so you don't have to worry - it disappeared almost right after application. Cetyl Alcohol might sound scary, but it's a positive for the skin fatty alcohol. It helps with moisture, and it's a marvellous emollient. It leaves a film on the skin to prevent TEWL (transepidermal water loss).
Betaine is an amino acid. We use it in skincare products for its moisturizing properties. Betaine keeps the water balance of the skin. It makes wrinkles appear less visible, and it soothes irritated skin. In hair care, betaine not only moisturizes the hair. It makes hair soft and shiny. Betaine in cosmetics usually comes from sweet beets. It naturally occurs in the skin and hair. Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer is a synthetic powder that absorbs sebum. You can usually find it in makeup for its flawless finishing. Not every oily skin will enjoy it.
Polyglyceryl-2 Stearate is a non-ionic surfactant and oily emollient. It's mostly used as an oil-in-water emulsifier. Glyceryl Stearate is an emollient with emulsifying properties. Behenyl Alcohol might sound scary, but it's a fatty alcohol. This type of alcohol benefits the skin, as it acts as an emollient, improving the product's texture. Cetearyl Olivate is one of the ingredients that belong to Olivem 1000 complex. It's an emulsifier.
1,2-Hexanediol is a synthetic solvent and preservative. It protects products from microorganisms by boosting other preservatives. At the same time, it can moisturize the skin and has no unpleasant effects on the epidermis. Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate is an emulsifier. Dimethiconol is a silicone polymer. It works as an emollient and moisturizer. Dimethiconol leaves a film on the skin, which makes your skin soft. In hair care, this ingredient is amazing for damaged hair since it makes them more smooth. Trisiloxane is a volatile silicone. It evaporates almost right after application, and its main task is to make the product easier to spread.
Usually, when we see any alcohol, we suspect the worst. You shouldn't be scared of Stearyl Alcohol - it's an oily emollient. It leaves a protective film on your skin. It works as an emulsifier too. Phytosteryl/Behenyl/Octyldodecyl Lauroyl Glutamate is an emollient. Sorbitan Olivate is one ot the components of Olivem1000. It's an emulsifier derived from olive oil and sorbitol. It prevents dehydration. Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate is an oil-in-water emulsifier. Cetearyl Alcohol is a fatty alcohol. In the beauty industry, it serves as an emollient. Many people associate alcohol with something awful for the epidermis, but not every alcohol is nasty. Cetearyl alcohol leaves a moisturizing film on the skin to prevent your skin from transepidermal water loss (TEWL). We use Cetearyl alcohol to create an emulsion.
Polyacrylate-13 is a polymer that creates a film on the skin and hair to prevent water loss. Hydrogenated Lecithin is a version of lecithin. It works as an emollient in the formulas. Polyglyceryl-10 Myristate is an emulsifier. Not every acne-prone skin will enjoy it. Elaeis Guineensis (Palm) Oil is an oil that usually comes from Africa. It's a source of lauric, myristic, oleic, and palmitic acid. Palm oil also contains Vitamin E, beta-carotene, and ubiquinone (coenzyme Q10). Beta-carotene gives it a red colour. This antioxidant has emollient properties.
Raffinose is a trisaccharide, and it has moisturizing properties. Glyceryl Stearate SE is an emollient. SE in the name stands for self-emulsifying. Dipropylene Glycol is a solvent with moisturizing properties. Hydroxyacetophenone is an antioxidant that is supposed to help preservatives in the formula. Hydrogenated Polyisobutene is an emollient. It's a synthetic substitute for squalane. It leaves a delicate film on the skin, which prevents the skin from dehydration. Laminaria Japonica Extract is an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial antioxidant. It's a source of fucoidan and laminarin. It has moisturizing properties.
Eclipta Prostrata (False Daisy) Leaf Extract is a source of vitamin C, flavonoids, triterpenes, and phytosterols. False Daisy is a typical herb for Ayurveda. In skin care, this ingredient has anti-aging properties and it's an antioxidant. In hair care, it helps with hair growth and regeneration. Fragrance (Parfum) is a composition of scents. It can cause allergic reactions. Ethylhexylglycerin is a preservative with subtle moisturizing and antimicrobial properties. Cholesterol is a lipid with a crucial role in our skin. This ingredient makes sure that our skin barrier is healthy. It can also work as a stabilizer. Xanthan Gum is a polysaccharide that works as a thickener.
Adenosine naturally occurs in the skin. One of the roles of adenosine in the body is that of a neurotransmitter. In skin care, we use adenosine for its anti-wrinkle properties. Adenosine is an anti-inflammatory ingredient. It can boost collagen production. At the same time, it speeds up the healing process. Adenosine can have positive effects on reducing redness. In hair care, adenosine can help with hair loss. Disodium EDTA neutralizes metal ions in the formula to keep products fresh. Ethylhexyl Palmitate is an oily emollient that provides a satin-like film on the skin. It makes brushing your hair easier.
Fructooligosaccharides are prebiotics. They nourish the skin and help the microbiome. Sorbitan Isostearate is an emulsifier. Collagen is a big moisturizing molecule that leaves a film on the surface of the skin. It's an ingredient that naturally occurs in our skin. Collagen is made of amino acids. In our skin, we can find collagen types I and III. Collagen can't penetrate your skin, but it makes your skin barrier stronger, and it can make wrinkles less visible. Ceramides naturally occur in the skin—they're like cement. Ceramide NP (also known as Ceramide 3) strengthens the skin barrier to prevent dehydration.
Beta-glucan is a polysaccharide that can come from yeast, seaweed, or fungi. It's one of the best humectants with soothing properties. It might help reduce wrinkle visibility on the epidermis. Some sources say it might be an antioxidant. Mix it with niacinamide and retinoids, or use it after skincare treatments to help the skin heal quickly. Beta-glucan leaves a film on the skin to prevent TEWL and lock the moisture inside the skin. Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid is a low-weight humectant. We have to remember that not every molecule can get through the skin surface, and lower molecular weight HA can penetrate the skin deeper and bring moisture inside the skin. It's a natural polymer that binds water in the skin to prevent TEWL (transepidermal water loss).
Cyanocobalamin is nothing but vitamin B12. It's a water-soluble antioxidant. It's an ingredient that you can find in products for wrinkles and pigmentation since this vitamin can help with both. Vitamin B12 is important for hair as well - it might help with dandruff, hair loss, and hair breakage. Hydrolyzed Collagen is a humectant with a smaller molecular weight than Collagen. It binds water to prevent TEWL (transepidermal water loss). It makes hair easier to detangle.
Sodium Hyaluronate or sodium salt of hyaluronic acid. It's a form of hyaluronic acid and naturally occurs in the skin. Sodium Hyaluronate has strong water-binding properties. Sodium hyaluronate, combined with elastin and collagen, is like a scaffolding for the skin. It has hydrating properties and leaves a hydrating film on the skin, but sodium hyaluronate prevents skincare products from drying.
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is a combination of coconut oil and glycerin. It's a notable emollient that is quite common in skincare. It leaves a protective film on the surface of the epidermis to save your cutis from dehydration. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride has a significant role in skin care products - it makes the application process effortless. Some people might experience pore-clogging after using Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, but pore-clogging and skin reactions to ingredients are individual. What works for you might not work for someone else. Oligopeptide-6 is a biomimetic peptide.
Tocopherol is an antioxidant known as Vitamin E. It's an oil-soluble vitamin that fights free radicals and makes UVB protection and natural lipid barrier stronger. It's good to mix it with vitamin C for better effects. Oily skin might react with pore-clogging to vitamin E. It is not true that vitamin E works as a preservative or helps with scars. Pullulan is a polysaccharide that prevents TEWL (transepidermal water loss) by creating a protective film on the surface of the skin. It makes products easier to apply and spread on the skin.
Polyglyceryl-2 Sesquiisostearate is an emulsifier. Glycine is an amino acid. Glycine is one of the components found in collagen. It has moisturizing properties, and it helps with wrinkles. Glutamic Acid is an amino acid that naturally occurs in the human body. It's a humectant that helps with the right pH of the skin. Arginine is an amino acid. It helps with protein biosynthesis in adults. According to research from 1964, a lack of arginine might raise your chances of getting an HSV infection. Poloxamer 188 is an emulsifier. It's used for oil-in-water formulas.
Polyurethane-15 is a film-forming ingredient. Candida Bombicola/Glucose/Methyl Rapeseedate Ferment moderates sebum production and has antimicrobial properties. Coco-Betaine is a mild surfactant popular in hair care and skin care. It has antistatic properties. Polyurethane-11 is a film-forming ingredient.
Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract is probably the most popular extract in skincare. It comes under a few names - Asiatic pennywort, tiger grass, or Gotu kola. Centella Asiatica's roots are in Ayurveda. This extract is successful because it's a source of triterpene saponins - madecassoside and asiaticoside. Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract has anti-inflammatory properties. It speeds up the wound healing process. You can use it to treat acne since it has soothing and antibacterial properties. It boosts fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin or even helps with hyaluronic acid synthesis. Centella is recommended for rosacea and cellulitis since it helps with blood microcirculation. In haircare, Centella can help with hair growth.
Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil is an oily emollient. It's a source of oleic and palmitoleic acid as well as vitamins A and E. Macadamia Oil is a phenomenal choice for sensitive and dry skin. In hair care, this ingredient can help with dry and fragile hair. Asiatic Acid is a terpenoid found in Centella Asiatica. This ingredient stimulates collagen production and wound healing. It also possesses soothing properties and acts as an antioxidant. Madecassic Acid is a bioactive part of Centella Asiatica. It's an antioxidant with calming properties. It can help with sensitive skin and wounds by speeding up the healing process. Asiaticoside is one of the terpenoids found in Centella Asiatica. It's a substance with antioxidant properties. This terpenoid can improve your skin by speeding up the wound-healing process. It can also help with wrinkles and boost collagen production.
How does AHC Premier Ampoule Eye Cream For Face Line Tightening (Season 13) work?
Let’s start with some basics and technology behind AHC Premier Ampoule Eye Cream For Face Line Tightening (Season 13). According to AHC, the eye creams from this brand have been the No. 1 eye creams for 8 consecutive years, and I can believe it, because every person in my family loves this cream!
This cream is a dual-functional cosmetic for whitening and wrinkle improvement. The whole line tightening in the name is supposed to refer to the relief of skin wrinkles. Why is it important to mention that it’s a dual-functional cosmetic? Because some marketing claims are banned, and if it comes to “functional cosmetics”, such claims must be supported by data submitted to the MFDS (Ministry of Food and Drug Safety). By the way, AHC always does lots of tests for each of their eye cream, and they never fail. If I have to trust any brand, AHC probably has my biggest trust.
There are three elements or “steps” that are supposed to make this cream more efficient. AHC used Nano-Hyasome to make the formula of the cream easy and quick to absorb. Another element is Bonding Collagen T7 and peptide silk or peptide thread made out of freeze-dried peptide yarn (Hydrolyzed Collagen, Pullulan, 1,2-Hexanediol,Oligopeptide-6) for firmer skin.
The whole Nano-Hyasome technology is focused on making molecules of the formula smaller than pores for better absorption, and in this case, the formula is 1/1300 smaller than the pores. To compare AHC Premier Eye Cream Core Lifting, Season 12 particles were 1/1,200 the size of the pore size. The other point is that this formula is super moisturising, because particles are double wrapped in Hyaluronic Acid. AHC compares that to using a sheet mask every single day. I had to take this illustration from promotional material so you can understand what I’m talking about. It makes sense since the name Nano-Hyasome reminds me of liposomes. Encapsulation of active ingredients in liposomes is a common practice.
Not only are the particles smaller, but the amount of collagen in this cream has also doubled in comparison to the previous season. The release of AHC Premier Ampoule Eye Cream For Face Line Tightening was possible thanks to AHC and ABioTech (에이바이오텍) collaboration. The development of Bonding Collagen T7, which is supposed to be stronger than the 6 types of collagen (T1, T3, T4, T5, T17, and T21), was possible thanks to both companies joining forces. In this case, I have to talk a bit, because this combination of 6 types of collagen - T1 (COL1A1), T2 (COL1A2), T3 (COL1A3), T4 (COL1A4), T5 (COL1A5), T17 (COL1A17), and T21 (COL1A21) was in AHC Premier Eye Cream Core Lifting. By adding a more powerful solution like Bonding Collagen T7, AHC doubled the amount of collagen, or at least that’s the information we get.
This cream can be used on the eye area, or you can use it for your entire face. I tried both ways, and I recommend AHC Premier Ampoule Eye Cream For Face Line Tightening as an eye cream and as a facial cream.
Each AHC eye cream was stolen from me by my mom, and Premier Ampoule Eye Cream For Face Line Tightening wasn’t an exception, but it’s not only her - my cousins who are over 40 love this cream. This new eye cream feels like it really is targeted towards women over 40. Even if we don’t have EleVastin™ in this new series, it’s still a good eye cream that’s focused on skin elasticity and sagging.
The formula feels lightweight, but it’s richer than you expect. It’s a delicate, silky formula that’s rich in moisture and collagen. At first, I was sceptical, but somehow I enjoy Premier Ampoule Eye Cream For Face Line Tightening more than previous AHC eye creams. I already ended two tubes, and I opened another one, even though I expect that in January, AHC will release season 14 for sure. Is Premier Ampoule Eye Cream For Face Line Tightening (Season 13) better than the previous version? In my opinion, yes, it combines great ingredients with a massaging tip that’s finally useful, but for women in their 50s, I feel like Season 12 Premier Eye Cream Core Lifting might be a better option if you plan to use this eye cream as a facial cream. During menopause, you can experience skin sagging and wrinkles becoming a bigger issue. It’s all related to hormones, and just skincare or treatments isn’t enough - you might need hormonal therapy, which you should consult with an endocrinologist or a gyno. Still, a good anti-aging cream is helpful, and Season 12 is a good choice.
If you’re younger or you want to focus on the eye area, then Premier Ampoule Eye Cream For Face Line Tightening (Season 13) is better since it’s not as heavy, but super moisturising. My eye area looks good, even if I spent way too many hours in front of the screen, and lately I barely have any sleep.
How much does AHC Premier Ampoule Eye Cream For Face Line Tightening (Season 13) cost and where can to buy it?
The good news is that AHC Premier Ampoule Eye Cream For Face Line Tightening (Season 13) is currently easy to get since it’s available on YesStyle*. I’m not joking, when I tried to get it in January, I had to order a package of 3 big creams, two minis, and it was worth it, but shipping these creams took ages. A 40 ml tube currently costs $13.75 (edit, right now you can get it even for less than $10), it’s a good price, but with my referral code BETWEENDOTS, you can save an additional 2-5% off on your order. If you’re not sure of this cream, YesStyle* has also a mini version of AHC Premier Ampoule Eye Cream For Face Line Tightening, 12ml costs $6.59.
Overall, AHC Premier Ampoule Eye Cream For Face Line Tightening (Season 13) was a big surprise, and I enjoy it more than the last two versions, but I know one thing, if AHC plans Season 14, then I plan to test it.
